The only Coal Road I know is in North Leeds, now closed at its north end bisected by the A6120 new ring road, and its definitely not that.

It does have the look of the Coal Road about it, that being the one from Cowgill in Dentdale to Garsdale Head. It also looks like the southward drop off Grinton Moor, which it also isn't, and like various places in the North Pennines AONB. So, probably the North York Moors then ...

Ah sorry, that was a little cryptic if you don't know it.

It's very similar to yours, but has walls instead of fences. It's the road that goes past Dentdale Station on the Settle Carlisle railway.

It turns out I know more than one Coal Road I had forgot about that one, I have been down there, my mate had one of the cottages at Garsdale Head Station.

I have just looked up the name of this road, where the pic was took it is one name, then a bit further down its another name, then further on a third name.

First thought: River Teme (Teem?). Upstream from Ludlow as it's quite small. Couldn't find any appropriate road junctions/bridges tho.

I was thinking canal, as that bridge has a higher central arch as if to allow boats to pass. Also, that road probably has a number. But no more ideas than that.

oops that's within 5 miles of my former home, although I have never cycled or driven on that road, just about every other road near it though!

I did think it had a look of the NYMs about it though.
