Thanks to whoever posted the Ribble 10% off code. Been looking for some cheap wheels to swap over my Mavic XP22s and was going to spend up to £130 but those R501s for £63 will do the job nicely at £31.50 each!

Phaart Booster 1/2 Watt Rear light - a Smart clone - almost identical - £1.49 http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/LIPHBSTRL/phaart_booster_05_watt_led_rear_light or Mist £1.99 http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/LIPHRMRL/phaart_red_mist_5_led_rear_light
Postage is £2.49 or free over £20

RE Smart Lunar 35 Lights - I have had these for ages and are very good in town and lit areas as be seen lights but are absolutely useless on unlit roads if you want to go more than 10MPH.

Have also just charged the batteries and the rubber O ring has come out of shape - it's stretched somehow so won't fit back in properly and water resistance may be compromised. IIRC these lights have a limited lifetime warranty so have contacted http://www.fisheroutdoor.co.uk/default.asp to see what they say.

I use a Moon XP 300 USB light when I am riding unlit roads & this can be picked up for around £40 from Amazon. Some of the Chinese Cree lights are pretty good but in my experience the mounts are generally sh1te and to get full power out of them you need to use 18500 batteries & a new charger.

Garage door bolts £27 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asec-AS1997...1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382010266&sr=8-1&keywords=asec

Makes your garage infinitely more secure and easy to fit as long as you know how to use a drill & can measure accurately. An hours work.

You may need some additional drill bits and I suggest getting them of Ebay is the cheapest. To fit the key covers you will either need a riveter or some decent adhesive. I haven't bothered and the locks are fine & must be galvanised.

"Security skewers" - a lot better than QR or even standard hex http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/pz-racing-cr5-3q-road-skewer-set-2013/rp-prod94793

These are really good IMO as they use a specific tool that can be attached to your keyring. Unlike these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/brand-x-lightweight-xc-allen-key-skewer-set/rp-prod6282 which use a hollow allen key and can't be attached to a key ring.

Both are a cheap compromise but offer a much higher level of security than QR or simple Allen Key fixings and you don't want to carry more than 1 lock.

Thanks, I'd bookmarked these a month ago, as they weren't in stock. And had forgotten all about them

Anyone know Halfords return policy?

Bought the Sportful jacket mentioned on here the other week read all info and size specs and was WAY too small. Just taken back to store to exchange for larger size - what a palava - 15 minutes of the staff not having a clue what they were doing and then at the end - "that'll be £1.60 please" - Eh?

I paid it cos I want the jacket but told her I wasn't happy - she agreed and said it was "the system".

I know it's only £1.60 but that ain't the point and Halfords shouldn't get away with this crap. Presumably if it had gone up to the RRP they would have been asking me for an extra £15 - just to change sizes cos their specs are not correct!

Any advice?

I took mine back and after 20 mins of them being nobbers and making it look 1000 times more difficult than it was I asked for a refund - they claimed it was going to cost them £28 to have a new size ordered in for me...I then went home and ordered another jacket from Ribble, which arrived today and is lovely fit. Much more expensive mind...
