Bu**er - missed it because I couldn't book before i went away - but there is room on the 22:30. So, if we could find somewhere c. Newhaven to crash out Friday, we could take the overnight and catch the leading peleton en route to Paris.

Any ideas where? Any company?

Well - a breakthrough - LD Lines have re-opened foot passenger bookings so I am on the 09:30 coming back Sunday. So it looks like a second outing for the Brommie. Last week Swansea, now Paris, next year ... ????

BTW I note the boat is no longer the Seven Sisters but MV Cote D'Albatre. Wonder if that effects anything?

Rumour has it that Southern Railways are doing a sale on their advance tickets today on their website. Might be a chance to book a cheap return from the coast.

Stuart - I take it you got confirmation on the bike?
Nope. Foot only. I did try la femme fatale on the 0800 number but no joy with a bike booking. So Brommie hand luggage it is!

Off to get a smaller chainring unless you can use your younger charms.

I did and there are no cheap tickets from Newhaven Sunday night 24th.

Count me in!!!

Is opening at 09:00 on Friday 22 July. So that a wistful farewell can be waved.

I did say that about a dozen people would be coming and gave assurances that they really would be wanting to have a drink or two to make it worth opening. I hope that is true.

I think for a change I won't bother with the cycling back lark and have a few beers instead!!!

Absolutely. Three pints could be a good limit, beyond which I reckon there would be a boaking up risk on the hill out of town.

Hill? Hill?!?!****!! Seeing as you've been so good as to sort out the pub opening times, could you now turn your attention to the topography?

How odd. I am looking out of the window and the street is full of Swansea fans! In front of my eyes, on the internet - 'Swansea' is everywhere!
Yes. The ascent out of Newhaven warrants extra bubbles in the ale. Adrian will sort out a smuggler's tunnel I expect.
