Just stumbled across this. I'm interested and have pencilled it in the diary. My main potential issue is getting my bike to London on the train (I've done it, it's quite hassly) and then getting to the start point without knackering myself cycling all the way from Liverpool St. And then cycling back to Liverpool St (don't like cycling in London traffic generally). I'll have to think about it all a bit more, unless anyone has any extra wisdom. I could, of course, drive to the start point (assuming I can park) but that seems a bit silly really.

Could you get a train to Stratford? If so you could jump on the overground to Richmond. Bikes are allowed on those trains and they're pretty quiet on the weekends (but no one would blame you for driving).

I think if I do come (still chewing it over) I would come by car, although it's a 2 hour drive! Is the parking free d'you know?

It's not the road bits I'm worried about - did Richmond park on Saturday morning and some of the hills on the West half of the Park almost killed me

I guess hills Vs porkers = only one winner (and it ain't the fat tw*t on the bike)!

Speaking of "cake-dance", managed to get the sensor working yesterday after some special modifications:

This morning was my first trip in using it and I was going at a reasonable rate most of the time 80-90.

It's the fact that the hill needs to be climbed at all that scares me Speed is unimportant and unavailable in my case when going up hill

Will see - if I can manage 30 miles this weekend without too many problems then I'll probably turn up on the 29th... no pain no gain and all that malarkey!
