We'll be waiting in the bushes to ambush you with our blue facepaint on.

I'm waiting to see who's going to pick up the baton up here for the next one, now that the milder weather has arrived

Good on you Crock btw

I am deffo interested COG. Just a bit scared that you road racer types will laugh when I turn up looking red-faced after a couple of miles on my hybrid!
Can make the 29th no probs. How about a central (ish) meeting point? The grassy area next to the London EYE on South bank maybe?

You can pencil me in for the 29th Nov I don't have anything planned yet.

I would like to do a good distance. I usually only commute and I have only ever done 1x 20mile ride, could do with a challenge (it won't take much to challenge me  )

I am so irritated that I'm elsewhere...
How about a circuit or two of the Richmond Park, then exit at Kingston Gate.
Left and up Kingston Hil, Kingston Vale, Left into Roehampton Lane, left to Upper Richmaond Road, left into Queens Road (the other one:smile:),continue to Star and Garter Hil, descend, Petersham Road, Kingston Road, cross Kingston Bridge, and left. Ahead along Hampton Court Road, cross Hampton Court Bridge, right into River Bank, Hurst Road, Terrace Road, turn right and cross Walton Bridge, second roundabout left towards Shepperton, Staines, Runnymede, Windsor etc. without it being too remote.

I only suggest this as starting point as I think about 80km into the journey there is a bit of countryside and I wouldn't want to disappoint all the Scots contingent too early in the ride...;)

I'll leave the route to someone a little more knowledgeable around London. My usual routes are either the Chilterns, Hampshire lanes or the odd jaunt into the Surrey hills.
The distance shouldn't be an issue.

I have looked at my A to Z of London, it is not that old, where is Richmond Park? I thought you were talking about a large park in London.
Or do you mean Richmond, somehere else.

* picks up Crock who has fallen over from laughing *

Are you joining us:smile: If you Google TW10 7 it's around there - sort of Kingston area.

Follow the river from east to west.... keep going until you see Hammersmith. Now look go South - the other Side of Barnes - just to the West of Roehampton... that large greenish blob is RP!

Yes, well er my A to Z of London map only went in a Sarf westerly direction as far as Vauxhall bridge. So I got out a road atlas, could not identify Kingston, so I turned the map the right way up.;)

Now found it. If I do join you, it will be without my bicycle , as I could not negotiate the trains with my cycle. While you all are cycling, I could scoff all the cakes explore the park. Or is that not a good idea?

I am not definite about being there, having not gone very far recently. Nearer the time, can I get a map of the park, so that I know where you might be meeting, and so that if I explore the park, I can find my way back again?

I realise that if I wander too far, I will encounter the Wombles!
