Theres an irony at play here. The 'crisis' seems worse in places like London, big, solid urban areas where car use is most inapproriate and public transport most efficient.

Conversely, the more rural areas where car use might be considered more justified are suffering less.

So the less folk genuinely need to use a car the more likely they sre to waste hours queuing and to break into spontaneous bouts of fisticuffs.

Certainly it seems to have more effect in those areas. I can't see the good people of rural Yorkshire rushing off to queue for hours to get petrol and ending up in a boxing match on t'forecourt.

It is still horse and cart in Yorkshire. Only thing petrol is used for is molotov cocktails. Wait till the regular Saturday night fight night.

At marinas or there are fuel boats around that will come to you. Or down the canal anyway.

In the north west pumps seemed busy yesterday but no long queues back into traffic that I could see.

According to a tweet by the Torygraph - it's only going to get worse in future as we've lost so many petrol stations apparently.
