Plus we have people filling water bottles with fuel. The crazies are out.

The guy that supplies wood logs to my colleague said he saw someone filling Tesco carrier bags with fuel.

If the fuel companies distribution network is limited due to lack of drivers then consumption will have fall to suit, either by queuing or by price. This is the free market.

Maybe we could have fuel rationing and I could sell my excess on the black market.

The move also appears to have polluted Mr Cox’s sense of humour, with the campaigner blaming ‘radical greens and cyclists’ for the stunt, which he branded ‘sick and puerile’.

OK - which of you did it????
Another crackpot that thinks cyclists only ever move by bike, because none of us own cars, do we? I know for some that IS the case, but only the fortunate few.

But the idea that the Guardian's big headline story of the day revolves around the possible deployment of 100 squaddies....? Give me strength...

The fuel story is a huge story, thus at the minute the media want every dot and comma.

Those blaming the media in some may might do well to consider this thread.

It must be the fastest moving and best viewed thread on CC this year, and arguably has made its own small contribution to the general nervousness over fuel supply.

I'm not criticising anyone for posting on here, but let's not pretend it's the media, social or otherwise, which is causing the problem.

The vast majority of us remain obsessively attached to our cars, and any attempt to weaken that attachment is vigorously resisted.

I love the wording the media use when reporting on this so called fuel shortage. Just listened to the Radio Clyde news report there, they are saying that "drivers are having to deal with long queues at petrol stations today". How about "drivers are CAUSING long queues at petrol stations today" and maybe adding on "because of their stupidity" for more effect.

A bit like recognising that you're not "stuck in traffic", you are the traffic.
