The queue for a local fuel garage, was right over a junction, blocking a set of lights entirely.
I rode my bike down the outside of the queue and waited at the red traffic light, as you do, and then had a very narrow squeeze between the back of one car and the front of another, before getting over the junction. The back of the queue was a good 150 yards from the forecourt entry point. The garage is on the ring road, so not a quiet traffic area. People at the junctions, unable to go on a green light were getting annoyed. I can’t say that I blame them. Yellow junction box was completely ignored.

I needed diesel today as I had to take my daughter to university in York, both petrol stations in nearest town (Wem) were shut at 9.30am with no fuel, tried Whitchurch next as it was on our way and there was diesel although they were running out of both petrol and diesel. Passed quite a few closed petrol stations on our way and Morrison’s in York had no fuel. It did add to the days stress levels!

Little known motoring fact.

Most fuel gauges have a tiny arrow pointing to the side of the car where the filler is.
I thought it was usually on the nearside so you would be filling up away from the traffic at a traditional kerbside petrol station hence it's usually on the passenger side of Japanese cars and on the driver's side of continental cars as in their native countries with left had drive they would be kerbside.
