Yeah, but, despite my intellectual superiority to the bin man which I'm just guessing is fact, the great leveller to our spat and my ultimate victory is that he was in work mode, wide awake, all Hi-vized up and I was half asleep and in my jim jams and dressing gown. Also, as I've pointed out already, my mistake wasn't not being able to follow a simple rule, it was forgetting to push my bin the required 2.5 feet from the end of my drive to the pavement. Adrian kindly backed me up stating that I must have my waste under my control according to the environment act 1990 so I could argue the bin should remain on my property until it is collected and as it was right on the periphery of my property I'd suggest it was the legal place to leave it for collection. The bin wasn't anywhere near my Audi Q7 4.2 TDI Quattro S Line so the bin man had no cause not to take it for fear of scratching my new motor.

Err, cashed in loads of railtrack shares a few years ago when they were top dollar well before they went tits up and my mum and dad gave me the rest so it's earned and paid for.
In the "best present" thread you say it was a present from "our kid"
If your going to lie then at least have the intelligence to remember.........

My bin was at the edge of my drive which is right next to the pavement. The width of the bin either way is the distance in question. Sorry if my guesstimate has altered slightly but the handle of the bin was directly over the demarcation point between my drive and the pavement. It wouldn't have required an immense amount of effort to empty it. The price you pay for having a flash car! Envy workers !!

OMG the shame .. the disgrace I've placed myself under .. the depressing state of mind I now find myself in, the low ebb I've now reached upon checking my wheelie bin (which is 99.99% still empty) I've found, stuck to the inside, near the top of the lip is a small sweet wrapper, which technically means, my bin wasn't empty and I've assumed a lie all this time
But!! BUT!! the bin men still emptied 99.99% of my wheelie bin this morning because I could be bothered to place it in the right place :giggle:

Most of the council workers Iv seen/ know, do as little as possible, and find any excuse not to do something.

"He contributed a large portion that I chose to omit but I wouldn't say I lied."

He would have needed to ....

Railtrack shares peaked at 1768p in Nov 1998, Issued at 360p, prices increased steadily until topping out ..

Sold for 10 times the amount he paid ? .. not likely, at best less than half of that ........

The bin "service" is the only portion of my council tax that I actually use. Been burgled twice, Police were useless. Never had a fire but I know I contribute to firefighters firemen putting car fires out and practising pool and driving their engines around the city centre on sunny days "bird" watching and then I pay their pension after just 25 years "work".

I've totted it all up and that's..........£170 to get my bin emptied.
Pay as you go, firefighters then?
