It might be horrible to some but the missus takes the kids round the corner to school in it every day and on Sunday morning I pick me Sunday Mail up in it from the coop down the road. On Saturdays I drive up to my Auntie Hilda's in it (she's 85). It's a win win situation because she's always glad to see me and I take her some provisions and because she lives on a council estate all the poor people can see what they might be able to afford if they got off their lazy fat arses.

It's very fast, very practical, very safe, quite economical for such a big beast. Yeah it cost a lot but if I can afford it then surely that's just my business.

I think it was a very restrained purchase, he could have wasted another £4.5k on the S-Line Plus model. And it's a diesel.....

I know what you're getting at....Ok, fair do's.....the S-line only has driver, passenger, side front curtain and 2nd row seat curtain airbags. The model I got doesn't come with 3rd row seat airbags as it was an optional extra. The reasoning was that only my dog or on some outings just my kids friends will be in the 3rd row of seats.

That's a good spot dude. You bugger.

One important point missed here, and someone touched on it in an earlier post...outsourcing. Thats the real problem.
My brother's a bin lorry driver, my wife works as a LSA and part time domestic in a school for kids with severe disabilities, all three jobs used to come under the councils umbrella.
Outsourcing, or rather insourcing. They've all been taken over by internal contracts....and they've all suffered. The pettiness they get treated with is unbelievable, its like working for a dictatorship. Do this, do that, dont do this, dont....its very very oppressive.
There may be good reason to treat a proportiion of the staff like this, only maybe, but my wife (and i know i'm biased) is extremely hard working, doesnt need shepherding and bullying...but thats borderline what happens. The LSA side is fine, different managers, but the domestic side of it, she can't wait to get out of. There's NO point in trying hard, no point in thinking for yourself. Just DO AS YOUR TOLD...they're treated like imbeciles.
The binmen are the same....just STFU and get on with it, less hours to do more and more work...why do you think you see binmen running up the street (they do round here).
Managers on their asses at every turn...no wonder they don't give a monkeys any more.
Erosion of terms and conditions, erosion of wages, it just goes on and on.
