Tempo ride yesterday and today a climbing workout with 1/2 the workout over ftp. A days rest tomorrow then an increase in duration/intensity over the next week. Plank now up to 1min 15s before physical collapse šŸ˜€

Iā€™m in a recovery week this week. I have 3 x 7 x 30/30 VO2 max scheduled tomorrow.

That was a quick improvement on the plank!

I find static exercises more difficult than doing lets say moving up and down from elbows to hands in a cyclic action. I can normally keep going for longer. That said I haven't done these exercises in a long time

Yeah, but itā€™s not pretty šŸ˜

Out of curiosity, plank'd

Better than I thought considering it must be several years ago I did them regularly

20 mins of low cadence big gear tempo today. About half the usual as in a recovery week. Managed to find a window between rain. This was swapped with VO2 max work (always done in turbo) which Iā€™ll now do tomorrow, when itā€™s due to tip it down all day.

Roy had me doing the Turbo Threshold Building workout again at the same intensity as last time.

Have to say I found it a fair bit easier (or rather, less hard) than last time.

Its been a good week of training for me. On Monday I got the boost that a new FTP had been detected. The training package subsequently adapted to place a Sweet Spot workout in my calendar for Tuesday night and it a actually felt sweet.

Wednesday night was the chain gang and not surprisingly only 2 other people turned up with the hail storms and knew of them blew up and had to sit on the back and we had to lower the pace a few times so it was a pretty comfortable workout for me an IF of just 0.68 for the chaingang.

Solid week and congrats on the FTP boost - always feels good.

Over/Unders are nasty I find!

How do you find Adaptive Training on TR?

VO2 max work completed on Wed , an hour of Z2 yesterday, got some longer tempo intervals lined up today, but freely chosen cadence and gears not low cadence big gear work. Iā€™ll do the tempo outdoors as got a suitable low traffic no junction section of lane to do it on. Iā€™ve then got a 3 hour Z2 and some threshold planned over weekend. Threshold likely tomorrow and then Iā€™ll finish off the week with the longer Z2.

3 comfortable workouts for me this week. All just tickling the legs a bit. I am finding I need to raise the bias on Zwift workouts which feel generally easier than SYSTM workouts. A case in point below. 2 long rides planned over weekend inc , perhaps, Ventop or Alp Dā€™zwift at tempo.

On a bit of a whim I bought a pair of trail running shoes and a running belt early this week. Started the Cto5k programme yesterday on week three (suggested by the app I downloaded based on my responses to a few questions about by fitness/activity levels).

Did my first run yesterday - only 16 mins of effort, with half of that running and half of it rest. Sounds pretty light and didnā€™t feel challenging.

Oh my god my legs are a MESS today. Totally wrecked. Hobbling up the stairs, can feel the strain of getting in and out of chairs. I feel like an old man! I donā€™t get this from any cycling workout or event anymore, but I remember it when first starting out. Iā€™m enjoying it!

Looking forward to the next run, but only planning to do two per week šŸ™‚
