Tonight was Kennedy-1, another bookended under/over session. Aparentky I am in the 'speciality' phase of my plan (tbh I prefer the more varied stuff). I spent too much time chasing the target though. That meant I spent too much time sat up or standing to see the screen, whereas I wanted to be in a TT position. Ironically the times I well overshot the target were the times I was down in that TT position. I should have stayed there more often. Cadence was a little low as well so I am not entirely happy with the effort.

Do you not have a head unit to stare at?

Trying to make time for IRL riding, so commuting and then some Brixton CC hill training last night. Glorious sunset albeit a little cold.

Nice. How long were the climbs?

They varied, short and sharp in the main and a few a bit longer but no more than a km. . All new to me and a reminder how hilly that bit of south london is. These are weekly rides ( though there is a tuesday Hills ride as well for the really, err, committed!) I need to swap out the 35mm and 45 psi gravel tyres for something a liitle more flattering. Wahoo head unit flat so unable to record power and HR.

Hows Calpe?

Completed VO2 max 3 x 7 x 30 / 30 session. I was due to do this yesterday afternoon, but my wife’s car battery 🪫 needed charging and that took up the time set aside. Going to have brief break then head out for a couple of hours of Z2. Too nice a day not to get some outdoor riding in, much as I love the turbo 😂

Wahoo bike/climb

I know what you mean though Bob, I tend to do weights to catch the different muscle groups from usual cycling muscles

Tested out the lungs on the first of the Zwift Spring Training workouts last night, because I was looking for something not too arduous, now that my cold and cough are going away. 40mins with 40 TSS. Felt okay; it was nice to be turning the legs again. My weight went up from 72.5kg to 74.5kg with 10 days off the bike.

Stunning cheers Bob. 20 degrees and blue skies. Loads of cyclists. Great roads, hills and scenery.

The target (apart from enjoying myself) is to get 20 hours riding done this week and I've budgeted 1,000 TSS. Easy recovery day today and I'm just over 500 TSS so far.

Did the marque climb yesterday (Coll de Rates) and did it 4 mins quicker than last year (sorry @IrishAl I beat your time) and did my best 20 min power of 2023.

3 days riding to go.
