Got to Sineu velodrome today - great surface compared to the concrete track in Belfast The photo definitely makes it look faster and more dramatic than i really was šŸ˜‚

NICE :okay:

Solid week and congrats on the FTP boost - always feels good.

Over/Unders are nasty I find!

How do you find Adaptive Training on TR?

AT seems to be working well for me I've not failed anything, touchwood, since it came out. Although most times when it has got hard I've got through it by hovering on the virtual nose of the saddle and either focusing desperately on the screen or closing my eyes and desperately counting down (at which point my 20s count is actually around 7s šŸ˜‚ )

Tonight I done the so called opener although I'm not 100% convinced it not too much before a TT. An opener worked well for my first TT of the season but I done it on the road. Tonight's windy and bucketing though, tomorrow is supposed to be stiller and drier šŸ¤ž

Zwift Orange Unicorn for me today though I chose to ride the 12 2minute 190w intervals out of the saddle at 65rmp figuring it would be good practice for the Pyrenees. HR high of 148 and I am pretty sure I am not fatigued so happy with that.

Was naughty yesterday, did a Zwift Race rather than the Recovery/Endurance ride I had been given.

Noticed the difference today - my 2 x 15 min sweetspot intervals felt harder than I expected.

2 days off now then a big volume week in Calpe.

I have a bit of a strange relationship with this thread alreadyā€¦.

Iā€™m not a big fan of self pity or self praise, so whenever I think about posting the thought of one of those (or both) kind of puts me off a little! Not that I have a problem giving other people kudos and encouragement, or giving sympathy to their travails. So itā€™s a bit of a contradictory position I guessā€¦ anyone else feel like that?

Anyway! Iā€™ve had a tricky couple of weeks really. The week before last I didnā€™t cycle at all. I have a little persistent niggle that I think is going to haunt me a while longer. So now Iā€™m going to have to try and manage that leading into the summer. Last week was better. The injury is still there but I put some hours in. 8 to be precise. Which is lower than my target by some margin but is as much as I couldā€™ve hope for.

Yesterday I rode 50 miles solo at an average of 20mph which is a PB on a track bike. So that has made me happyā€™ish. What I really want to do is start putting in the bigger volume. Both weekly and in single rides.

This week will be tough as I continue to renovate a recent flat purchase. But Iā€™m hoping I can push closer to my weekly target including at least one 70+ mile ride. Time will tell.

Tommy, you have a bit of a strange relationship with many things ^_^

I know what you mean but I find that writing things down and sharing them helps me look at things in a more balanced way and also keeps me accountable/motivated. I try and put my failures in as well as any successes.

Anyway, it seems you are progressing well considering the challenges you are facing. One day I'll join you for Regent's Park laps :okay:

Paradoxically the rest may be doing you some good given the 20 mph average? Still, good to know the excuses are coming thick and fast before the Raid Pyrenees:okay: Though it being tough renovating your burgeoning property empire strikes me as a bit low mate

An enjoyable 90km in the real world yesterday with a new PB on a climb whilst using 35mm gravel tyres/wheels. That was the legs shot for the rest of the ride ^_^. Far too much traffic on the roads though everyone trying to chase a bit of sun.
