You sound like Judge Dredd.

There was no need to slam on his brakes, I didn't cut in front that late. He just needed to slow down a little bit.User76 said:Now I understand all that, but if the driver slammed on his brakes and someone had gone up his chuff, our be-camera'd hero would be off into the sunset wondering what all the fuss is about wouldn't he?
He was still sounding it after I had stopped and moved to the steered to the side to let him past! It's no good filming our commutes, putting up drivers for judgment and slagging them off, then when one of us balls it up, putting up the film
and then slagging off the driver for sounding his horn.
I don't make a thing of yelling or giving a "right gobful". Moments before I thought I was going to be going over the bonnet hence my reaction. Watch the second video, he just tells me off with his finger - he was never worried I was going to hurt him, he was just making a point.Bear in mind we shout at people all the time (well I do if someone cuts me up). Like I said earlier, Thomas seems to have taken exception at being shouted at, watch his first video, he gives the girl right gobful!!
User76 said:How do you know he didn't need to brake sharply, you weren't in the car, you do not know the state of his car.
Think, "Moments before I thought I was going to be going over the bonnet hence my reaction." you made an instinctive reaction. He thought you were going over his bonnet, he made an instinctive and reactive decision.
Do you drive by the way?
tdr1nka said:My thinking on the guy accelerating on the roundabout is that you generally speed up to change lanes and exit a roundabout.
I honestly appreciate you've admitted to making a foolhardy mistake but you should also have the humility to accept the drivers anger at your thoughtlessness.
Consider the fact that you frightened the sh*t out of him.

The world has gone mad![]()
Origamist said:There's 2 RaB vids in this thread - so 7 pages is nothing for a cycle-cam double whammy. This thread has legs, mark my words.
FatFellaFromFelixstowe said:Sorry, just found the 2nd video now. I think more roundabout training would be a good starting point.

thomas said:The speeding up occurred once I was there, when he could of seen me, rather than just to get off the roundabout or at least he continued to speed up when he saw me so he could make a point, rather than just lift off and let me safely get out of his way.
thomas said:I know my mistakes, it's just the fact they happened in the same week which makes me look like I don't understand roundabouts. I don't show the other 30 times that week I make it around them successfully or the however many thousands of times I've gone around roundabouts without a problem.
tdr1nka said:You are also very lucky he didn't just get out of his car and lamp you.
Eat MY Dust said:Why because he made an error of judgement?!?!? What a world we live in when you have to live in fear of being assaulted for pulling out onto a RAB early.
col said:If you pull onto a roundabout early your likely to get assualted by a car, never mind the driver. You pull out anywhere too early and your taking risks. The solution is to wait until there is a safe gap isnt it?
Eat MY Dust said:Don't get me wrong, I completely agree that waiting for a safe gap is obviously correct. But for drivers to go around assualting cyclists for making a mistake and this being par for the course (apparently) seams a bit overkill to me.
col said:if a driver makes a mistake the cyclist can react badly to it, it puts it into perspective from both sides doesnt it?
