Which I think was wrong. There was no need to approach him. We had plenty of good players willing to play.
It’s not like the Moeen Ali situation where we had no other choices.

On his day he’s brilliant but Is he fit to bowl? He didn’t bowl in the ashes.
And I don’t like the fact that he gave up one day internationals, other players have filled the voids he left and have been left out of the squad.

He can barely walk let alone bowl. He should be taking the time off to fix his knee as he's more valuable in our Test side than ODI.

Yes the Stokes one is strange, if he could bowl the you you say yes take him, but I'd rather he stick to his former plan, which was to have surgery to get his knee sorted out ahead of the 2024 tests..

I know Brook has barely played any 50 over England stuff and perceived as maybe has a weakness against spin, but you'd have to think he was worth his spot vs Malan and Roy neitehr of whom are in good form, indeed Trent Rockets dropped Malan from the Hundred

Jacks toured the sub-continent last winter, as an extra spin option that could bat. I think he took a 6fer in the test vs Pakistan, although he's probably stronger as a white ball cricketer, he is in the Stokes mould - i.e. aggressive batter

It's always a bit of both. That said, I can't remember many bad balls from England.

From about 70 runs it seemed we were taking a wicket every 10 or so. They were lucky to scrape past 100.
