Solace for NZ on the night their rugby team take a doing as the cricketers show them how it's done. Mitchell was on fire!

I wonder if both teams have ended their innings with a 6?

Good to see us bounce beat from a humbling in the previous ODI. Wasn't sure we had enough but we bowled really well, and it was great to see Topley get amongst the wickets.

yes heck of a rescue job that.

@T4tomo Forgot about that.
maybe just maybe we might salvage enough points from September cricket to haul ourselves off the bottom, despite the deduction. We're looking very much in control in this weeks game.

although a very handy 3rd wicket stand is making it likely we'll need to bat twice and bringing a draw back into the equation on a low slow wicket.
Interesting move with only off spin options (Bess & Lyth) & seamers Fin Bean has taken the gloves off Jonny Tattersall to allow JT to bowl his very occasional leg spin.

Tattersall bowling is a joke we'd be better asking Hartley to come on.

Catching up on the highlights from yesterday, Stokes' knock was something else!

I don't understand why the BBC have highlights for some of the games but not all of them. I'd avoided the score all day to make the highlights more exciting (sad, I know, I do the same with football) and they weren't on. Very irritating!

Am I missing something here but when I was taught to play cricket back in the 60s, as a bowler, you were expected to aim directly for the stumps. Any bouncing of the ball on the ground on it's way to the stumps was a big no no. But now, such practise appears normal.
Why the change - ? :whistle:

Eh?

The ball has always been expected to bounce on the way to the stumps at any level of cricket above young kids playing in the street.

A full toss is generally a poor ball which will usually get lamped for a boundary.

This is a full toss post.

Think we may be a little short total wise in our WC opener. Seem to be nursing a lot of injured players which isn't great.

Surprisingly poor crowd too.

I didn't think they'd scored enough either.
