That’s a bit of a surprise. The crowd have been expecting Anderson but he seems to want to continue. Woakes, Ali and maybe Wood will not be far behind unfortunately.

Well I had a great day at the Oval. It's ages since I saw any test cricket and this was a fantastic day.

Here's my fervent hope - Australia fall 8 runs short. Those last 8 runs being Jimmy's.

You go back further than me. I think I have seen Randall though but he was playing for Lavinia Duchess of Norfolk XI in a warm up match Vs Aus at Arundel, circa 1990 ish.

Do they still do those matches?

I can’t see why Anderson would want to keep going now.

Will be interesting if they come out to bat this morning. The sensible heads will say you don’t want to risk your bowlers. But I’d not be surprised if Stokes decides to let them take the applause, try and flail another 20 take the lead over 400 and crush the Aussie resolve.

That's exactly what I'd do. They'll have anticipated either scenario, but I reckon watching Jimmy be hilariously rubbish for a few minutes would get right inside their heads.
