Great opening round of fixtures. As a Hampshire fan I was more than happy for the Yorkies to be back Here's hoping we can do a number on Surrey across at the Oval this week!

Great opening round of fixtures. As a Hampshire fan I was more than happy for the Yorkies to be back Here's hoping we can do a number on Surrey across at the Oval this week!

We rather fluffed our lines in the 1st 2 sessions, and losing 1st chnage seamer after 4 overs also didn't help. Encouraged that we made a game of it after that, esp as Hants have been in top 3 for past 3 seasons.

I had a uneasy feeling when Wusster won the toss and chose to bowl at Headingley, thinking the pitch might be too spicy, but so far so good with Yorks 103-1 at lunch, much better than last weeks efforts.

Absolutely battered Wuss by 500 runs inside 3 days. They were poor, and crumbled like a good wensleydale, twice , but then last week they survived a 200 over rearguard action at Taunton? Anyway good to get a win on the board, onto Durham on Friday, its games thick and fast in this first "block"
