Match delayed again at Scarborough, Lyth is going well on his home ground.
I always liked playing a North Marine Rd something about play at the seaside. Good knowledgeable crowds too

But on a more serious matter I need to plan my picnic for the Oval on Sat. I'm thinking of baking some cheese scones.

Technically speaking his true home ground is the Turnbull Ground at Whitby, but he's probably played a lot more innings at Scarborough as it wasn't long until he outgrew Whitby 1st XI!

blumming rain is a nightmare, read somewhere we'd (Yorks) lost 40% of county championship overs this season to rain!!

Yes very true
Yesterday the commentator said he'd been talking to the official Yorkshire statistician about the % loss of overs.
Not good and has not help us this season. But it's not the only thing that's got us in the situation we are in.

Indeed. last season was very poor, I feel they haven't had much luck this season, weather or fate getting us on the wrong side of some tight results, but definitely playing better. If they could get Coad and Fisher playing regularly together for the bulk of the season they'd be challenging promotion.

This is the problem we can't get consistency and too often we've not been able to bowl sides out quick enough or cheep enough.
Unlike past years you don't get the feeling we someone can come in and make things happen. Or when do play well can't stop thinking something is going to go wrong.
Promotion push will be nice but we'd face being busted back down due to this point deduction mess. The whole thing has taken way too lang and should have been sorted by now. Can't help think if it had a southern club it would have been all been sorted.

Seen some great cricket at Scarborough. Always loved playing on the outfield during the intervals. Lots of memories of the eccentric ice cream seller, the time we had a plague of greenfly that stopped play, only to be followed by a plague of ladybirds!

rained off for the day at Scarborough, real shame, I hope it fairs up for the one day matches so they get some decent crowds in.

England getting in and out at the Oval, looking for the HB BS JB engine room to go big....

Yet another draw looks likely sadly hopefully form will not suffer due to the messing about with the championship. Why they think playing the sharp end of the championship in September is a good idea I don't know.
