The Selby Three Swans Sportive has just been announced for this year it is on the 31st of August.

There are 3 distance options and prices as follows:

160km / 100m £25.00
96km / 60m £20.00
8km / 30m £15.00

I did it last year and it is the best sportive I have done, the signing is excellent there are 4 or 5 food stops with loads of Bananas, oat bars and tubs of haribo and plenty of water to refill bottles. You also get a nice t-shirt and they provide timing chips so you can see what time you did.

Also if you dont like hills last year it was as flat as a flat thing.

Here's my attempt at a routesheet. It would be good if one or more patient individuals with the right mapping software could load my GPX file and see if they could navigate by the routesheet and check it against the map!

re numbers, I bet people will drop out nearer the date!

H'mm, I don't know about that; I might be coming with 3 others  - even here in Shropshire, Colin's Yorkshire Tours are highly regarded.

If I get enough riders, we could always hire a minibus . . .

There's no rush - as tc pointed out above, the ride is still 2.5 months away!

I just watched a Channel 5 programme about four unfit GPs training to do the gruelling Spanish Pyrenean event 'The Bonebreaker' in just 12 weeks. Two of them completed the 127 mile event within the 12 hour time limit. I reckon if they can do that, then I ought to be able to get fit enough for my ride in just under 11 weeks.

I saw that! Thought it was a pretty big ask of them as none of them had cycled much before. Amazing what the body is capable of

Hi all I have been watching from the sidelines too long so time to join in if there is room. Was going to bring my 3 year old grandson on his fixie with stabilizers so I wasn't last but that plan looks doomed as he will be 4 by then so I will still be last. Will wave to you at rossy rd lights then head to springwood in car - that will be my furthest distance.

Hi Colin

I'd like to join the ride please, probably for the 100 imperial.

There are good deals on the trains up from Cov if I book now, and if the weather's good I may ask your advice for a good cycling route back down south on the Sunday!

*ahem* did you leave me off the list on purpose? I am particularly interested now that that well know fast man @I like Skol has withdrawn. Fed up with losing his wheel up the hills
