Scotland : Perthshire CC Ecosse Perth Ride - Sat 3rd August

Hi Folks

Any chance that you can add another one to this ride!! (I'll take the car as it sounds like the trains are going to be well busy).

I commuted to work to EDB for years - we got loads on bikes on the train on some days during the commute - then I tried getting 4 road bikes on the train on an early weekend morning to go on the Edb to St Andrews ride and had all sorts of trouble!!

Pity I wont be there but most trains have two bike racks and you can get two bike on them but I've seen much more than that occaisionaly however, you get a jobsworthy who wont let you on but thats not often.

I've got 8 wanting to come with me, waiting for a quote from minibus company. If it is reasonable and they are willing to take the bikes of course, you could come with us as the smallest seat 12.

If space is very tight I'd not be averse to riding it from Glasgow (or potentially Stirling).

Ok, Perth is a bit further from Glasgow than I realised...

Edwardoka is considering riding to the starting point and it will be VERY difficult to secure a bike space on the train. If there are no more spaces it's cool I'll work something else out but thought it worth asking

I have contacted 3 minibus companies, none got back to me yet.
If I find one willing to take us (return of course) and the bikes at a reasonable price I will keep you and @jazloc a space. @Rasmus too if he wants.
If I'm not able to procure a minibus, we will have to chance our luck on the train, but I will need to cancel the Belles

I rode it from Stirling last year, it worked out at a total of 120 miles. It was a great day and I'm just sorry I'm not fit enough to do the same this year.
