What a plonker Farley is:laugh:

We farmed out all the different modules to get the best price, but the software doesn't talk to each other :banghead:

Then they have to ask permission from the module maker to alter the coding

Ford have had it, if they think that's the way to make an EV.

Tesla software company that makes cars. That is why Tesla are so car ahead

I think that was how they started and have now realised that they can't do it like that - hence their plan now to bring software development in house. The issue is whether they can build that up fast enough before they have lost too much money and market share.

Ford have been windows based OS. You know how well that works. 🤣

Got it yesterday. Rubbish to drive, brakes are terrible imho, probably as it weights 15 tonnes. Only got it a while until i4 turns up in October. SUV's suck.

Are you driving in regen mode or without - the ID4 (Same platform) has two driving modes and braking is very different in the two different modes. I much prefer regen mode. It only weighs 2.5 tonnes, and it's only a little heavier than the I4.

I'm surprised you are finding it rubbish to drive. The ID4 is a pleasure to drive - shoots off like a rocket, doesn't wallow when cornering. It's just the user interface that lets it down.

Does it not have variable regen?

I would expect at least 5 levels of regen from nothing to sharply pulling up..?

Most cars have mild and firm regen. No need for multiple levels.

I don't use my brakes on or off so why not graduated regen?
That's sort of what the ID4 does. With regen on braking is mostly regen when you hit the brakes, but if you lift from the accelerator pedal the car starts to slow quickly and efficiently with the regen turned right up. In Drive mode the car will not slow if you lift off the accelerator except for inertia which is surprisingly efficient in an EV - the regen braking is only used when you press the brake pedal. The car itself judges when brake pads need to be used rather than just maxing the regen.

Not really messed with any modes yet, but why are the brakes so poor? Not the worst car i have driven but not getting on with it so far. Been spoilt with fast 3 and 5 series motors, so maybe thats the issue.
