Even though you'll save cash on the fuel ?

Ice will be obsolete in the next few years. Of course it'll be cheaper than EV.

need to keep the car for a while and do the miles to recoup fuel savings ! I remember this when dirty diesels were first introduced . So hopefully , prices will come down in due course , same as petrol/diesel vehicles back in the 90s, they eventually reached parity.

Why would you buy new then ? Buy second hand. Much better value.

Better value compared to a new EV perhaps but still not cheap unless you go old and/or leggy and then you run into battery longevity concerns surely?
As an example, a 3 or 4 year old Kia Niro is still £20k+, hardly inexpensive for a second hand car! It’s about the only current EV that has any appeal to me in terms of size and look.
Some will be high mileage ex taxis. Hybrids a bit cheaper but not especially appealing.
It’s 10 years since I bought a car, and is astonishing how much even nearly new cost compares to back then

This was at Thetford Supercharger today. Obviously folk are happy to pay the premium price for reliability, always work rapid chargers.

Tesla will make a huge profit form these customers, accelerating their rollout of further superchargers

My wife's Tesla has used over 8600kW year total. Supercharging was 3% of the charge, the rest at home . Savings approx £2300 instead of buying petrol for the year

The Plaid S has retaken the Nurburg lap record off the Porsche Taycan turbo S.

Porsche fans not happy.

This is a good thing, it will encourage development through competition :okay:
