Are we being forced to go electric?

I know. It's almost as if Tesla owners have a passion for their Teslas (Teslae?) and just really think they are good.

One of the dichotomies that many cannot get their head around is that Tesla tends to do badly on reliability charts but brilliantly on customer satisfaction charts.

I've had niggles with both our Teslas, but no worse than any other car I've owned. All minor, quickly fixed. I like the way Tesla go about repairs, you communicate via the app, they ring you, confirm the issue and have the common part already at the dealership.

Most dealers find the fault after you've booked it in and then book another appointment to fit it

My Model S passed its MOT with flying colours. Kwik fit did the MOT.

Surprised they didn't fail it on the lack of exhaust ^_^ or low emissions

Passion for cars, ICE or electric, is something that, I am glad to say, I have never suffered from.

It took me years and years to realise what I liked about having company cars was being paid to listen to radio 3 or 4, seeing different places and having time to myself, and almost nothing about the car or driving.

I really hated it when I was first given a company mobile phone. I used to enjoy the long drives from South to North and West Wales with an audio book on and no interruptions.

Technology can be great...but only on my terms.

I suppose it's easier as the car's are linked up, so they can see the faults. I've booked cars in dealers before, told them what it was, oh we have to have it in, then they order the part, so it's two visits.

Second hand Tesla slammed for "failing apart", broken suspension arm. Could that be why it was being sold, maybe not broken but suspected possibility.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/motors/220...rt-disappointed-disgusted-cost-thousands/amp/

Had that with my Fiesta but would not say it was "falling apart", more a case of hitting too many potholes and no doubt a fracture slowly developed.

Saw that, just came across as anti Tesla, when it was actually a ignorant driver who didn't have a car properly assessed before purchase.

The early model S did have weak wishbones if they hit potholes.

I meant that owner raved other then when they were taken over by VW, much like Tesla owners do despite the reported quality deficiencies.
It's also worth noting that Tesla are still (I think) the only company where the majority of purchasers do not test drive the product or check it out in a showroom before buying it.

“Interest in new electric vehicles may be declining, data from the UK's largest car sales website suggests as Tesla boss Elon Musk signals more discounts ahead to boost demand.

The volume of new electric car searches, ad views and messages to retailers on the Auto Trader platform was down nearly two thirds (65%) from the beginning of last year to March this year, it reported.

Auto Trader has attributed this to the high cost of electric cars, higher borrowing rates and more expensive electricity, all amid a cost of living crisis.”

Cost of living biting , high energy costs, very expensive EVs ? Tesla cutting prices and will continue according to the news report on the radio ? Can see why people are maybe being turned away from EV ownership , unless a company car of course !

You can't test drive your new car as a rule. When we picked up wife's Tesla there were 500 others collecting their car that day

Five HUNDRED?
That sounds like a strange experience. When we got our Kona EV almost 4 years ago, we were the only ones….felt quite a special day!
