You can't test drive your actual car, of course. But most dealerships offer test drives in at least one model in each main range they sell.

Tesla don't have dealerships. You can test drive a Tesla at a Tesla store, but remember that hundreds of thousands of Tesla 3's were sold / reserved before the car had even been designed. Same for the Tesla Y

Yes, that is rather the point that was being made. With other cars, most people if they are looking to buy new, will go along to a dealer, have a good look at the vehicle, and often test drive the closest available model. With Teslas far fewer people do that even when they can.
Funny thing is that I idled by a Telsa Demo in the city on Saturday and although I was definitely non committal about EVs; 'something for future consideration / long term planning' I said, I've already been offered a non obligation 30 minute test drive - !
The model I was looking at ( don't ask me which one it was, but more functional looking that the other sporty ones on show - ! ) starts @ £45k.

I collect my second one in a couple of weeks. Had the first one 18 months or so and it’s been a hoot.
Never looked up the specs on mini

Function possibly are primary in your mind and mine, but I observe from my neighbours and advertising that image, fashion, lifestyle and status have a huge amount to do with the purchase of many cars.

But almost exactly the same price and performance as the petrol Cooper S, which I had before. And the small battery means lower weight which means decent handling and a peppy drive. Range is enough for me - has been for the last 18 months anyway.
People always feel compelled to post this stuff, Mrs G is buying a Mini Because she wants a Mini. If she wanted a Zoe then she would have chosen a Zoe
