EV yes- premium brand maybe a no.

The police have always had "good" cars, and they do have a need for them, for fast response.
And an EV is well suited to general police work, I would have thought, with few long journeys
BMW are to cease supplying vehicles to UK police forces. As I said, their rapid response vehicles have always been pretty high-end.
They have quite a few BMW X5s for instance.
Do you want them to catch bad guys? No-one is going to outrun a Tesla.I spotted a tesla police car on my commute into Mcr today, who ever signed off on that needs their head feeling. I thought they were cash strapped !?

Oddly enough it'll impact the range of an ICE vehicle too.🤔Has anyone put a bike rack on an EV? I imagine the aero loss would impact the range but I wonder if it’s measurable.
I was reading a few of the earlier posts and thinking about whether there will be enough charging capacity even though the National Grid say that they have factored in all of the future requirements . It was just recently that they have had to fire up two coal power stations which were due for closure due to increased demand . How long ago was their forecasts done as the new nuclear power stations have been put on hold for a while whilst the government makes up its mind . Also as pointed out in previous posts have they factored in the switch over to heat pumps ?
All of this is very well but thousands of people have been without power due to gales taking down power lines and have been without power for weeks as the companies try to get enough people to repair the lines .
It seems a bit ironic that some people with electric vehicles may have to buy a petrol powered generator in case of emergencies .
Yes it is, but it depends on the rack. Putting a bike on the roof for example is worse than a tow bar rack.Has anyone put a bike rack on an EV? I imagine the aero loss would impact the range but I wonder if it’s measurable.
The problem is, if the battery cell get's damaged, it's very difficult to extinguish, and the cells can re-ignite after you've put it out, but you know that. It's rare and I suspect more ICE car's go up, but at least they can be put out easier.

So what happened at the Liverpool car park?
