Did Glentress Trail Half Marathon yesterday. By far the hilliest, wettest, muddiest and treacherous underfoot half I have ever done. Oh yes, and my slowest too 😂

Nearly fell several times on the mud and rocks but managed to stay on my feet. Have a sore big toe on my right foot after kicking one of the rocks when nearly falling.

Parts of the run was on the black mountain bike route that was closed for the event. Bad enough running on that, certainly wouldn’t fancy riding it! Sections of the route had rivers running down them and the water was flipping cold.

The above probably makes it sound awful but it was a great experience.😀

Sounds like hell sitting here in my front room with the sun streaming in. And having only just managed a 4 mile jog this am: because it was bright and dry out 🤣

Glad you enjoyed though ! Kudos….👌

I've done many many races over the years, a lot of them fade into a uniformity. The ones that stick in your mind are the ones that are the most challenging at the time.
When the going gets tough, I ask myself " is this as bad as toothache " , the answer is always " No " 😄

Still plodding along with a gentle 8 miler today.

The trail sections look much more pleasurable than running along the roads.

What camera setup are you using there.

To be honest it was only the first half mile that was bad, but I was expecting it as it’s the main road to the “beech”. Yes the trails are much more enjoyable, I had to finish on the high tide route (road) otherwise the last section would have been slogging along the shore (a mix of gravel, stone and sand) which has the legs burning very quickly.
I’m using a Go Pro Hero 8 Black on a genuine Go Pro chesty harness, with a power bank plugged in to extend the (short) battery life (4 to 9 miles depending on settings). I really like the look of the Go Pro 11 with improved stability program (I’m very impressed with the stability program on the 8), but until this breaks there is no point in changing.
