Shame he can't work out what side the fenders are supposed to go. :okay:

I think they are on both side but the weight of the boat is squishing the Port side ones almost flat
The ones on starboard are there in case someone moors alongside or bumps them while moored - which I don;t think is much of a problem for a few hours either side of the time of the photo!!!!

And the word "gullible" was only added in the 1976 edition
I think I managed to convince one of the Nurses at work, that the word relates to a scientific study
In the 60's, about Herring Gulls:whistle:
It was mounted to find out if the archetypal honing in on a visitors food (fish & chips, for example) was based on sight, or smell, perception

Wood was used shaped like chips, some researchers had plain 'chips', others spread a paste with the scent on surfaces

Hence the word, as the Gulls, swooped on the decoy chips, also proving that they were a sight-hunter, but would fall for the fakes, so they were 'gullible'
