That mitre is a scribed joint. You scribe internal joints & mitre external joints.
You do the same with skirting boards, an internal mitre shows a very big gap if there's shrinkage/movement, the 2 angled faces pull away from each other.

That flooring job is RAF (rough as F)!
How did they ever get a plug into the socket being so close to the floor?
