I don't know about other places of work - but there is probably a mountain of teaspoons from school staff rooms - plus a mug mountain from the same source (all unwashed - honestly - teachers!!!!)

For about 18 months, a large group of us at work were in temporary offices in the town centre. As we were away from the main building and didn't have access to the company canteen, we were given vouchers for the cafe down stairs. There weren't many seats in the cafe and people often took food and drink back to their desks. Every so often, the man who ran the cafe would come up looking for all his missing plates, cups and cutlery when they were running low in the cafe!
