Thinking of alternatives I did see an aluminium framed Cyfac with carbon front and back end when I was here at the weekend. http://www.boutiquecycles.co.uk/
Didn't particularly grab me, but the build was a bit less than my budget. Goes to show that there are plenty of interesting alternatives out there.

If you want a 2k carbon Pearson, there are a couple of options

http://www.pearsoncycles.co.uk/pearson-i-m-not-a-number-949.html#product_tabs2 (I think this is the update to my Pave, quite upright Sportive rather than arse in air race)

Or there's this, must be new offer, not a lot of detail

And one of these to go with?

Just wanted to say thanks for all the suggestions and comments. Still some work to be done to sort out the finances so will bump this when I have something to share, Once again many thanks.

I'll bet you are FF...

I'm kinda excited for you, just love new bike time (even if it's not mine).

How long from ordering/being fitted to completion then (if you don't mind me asking).

Remember to post those pics when it arrives..

Would make a great Christmas to get it on time for you.
The frame's been welded and shot blasted today!
Had to take the donor bike and wheels up today Arggghhhhhh :-)

Sorry to be a bore, but whilst I was at Rourke today, I saw a bike with the same frame build as the one I'm waiting on just being finished.
