Well in the absence of any astounding deals I have now ordered the Dell G15.

Unable to give any advice here as I haven't bought a PC laptop since my Dell Windows 7 model about 15 years ago. I went Mac after that. It was a bit odd to start with, but I like it now. I don't do iTunes or iPhone though.

Hope it works out well for you.

Just climbed the Trollstigen (troll ladder ) in the climb portal didnt see any trolls 12km at 6%ish 1 hour in top of z2 then 1.2kms of whatever gas Id got left good workout ,I find it much easier to control power when pushing against a slope. Any one done it in real life ,in game profiles would suggests it's spectacular

I did this today, considering it is 6.3% average gradient, there felt like a lot of 7%+ on it. I might have freewheeled down it, well not quite, I averaged 12 watts on the descent so must have turned a pedal somewhere

Now I don't know whether to post on (I am not using) Zwift (yet) Chat or (I am not using) TPV (yet) Chat!

I will mainly post here until my Victory trainer arrives and I finally get stuck in.

I am probably going to (mainly?) end up using TPV rather than Zwift because I like the design of the wind, braking, different drafting features etc on TPV.

I will try all of the main platforms though and may end up with subs to more than one.

I just discovered the picture-in-picture feature on Apple TV. I can't see me wanting to watch movies or general TV shows while spinning away on Zwift/TPV but I can imagine watching the cycling coverage on Discovery+ while doing it.

Apple TV does support PIP, so you can have Zwift full screen then another app small in a corner (as long as the app you want to have small in a corner supports it). The audio will come from the full screen app though, I.e Zwift...
Apparently, it doesn't have to!

That video is a couple of years old so things may have changed since then. This evening I will test Discovery+, YouTube, Netflix (enjoyed their 2 TdF series) and Prime (currently enjoying Ullrich documentary series The Hunted) inside Zwift and try with TPV too. I will report back later.

I have changed my mind about trying to use my road bike and dumb trainer on Zwift/TPV. I have decided to set it up in my kitchen and do TP workouts using my Elemnt Bolt for now.

The long wait for my smart trainer is starting to feel very lonnnnnnnnnnnnng, but I can't say that I didn't know that it would when I placed the order!

Is this the gaming version Martin?

Did you add any extra like better GPU and Ram?

I noted if you picked the i7 CPU, the spec upgraded the GPU, screen refresh rate, bumped price to £999

Well, after an hour or two installing apps on my Apple TV box, retrieving/resetting passwords from well-hidden scraps of paper, and having no success at all, my research now suggests that Netflix, YouTube, Prime, Zwift, TPV and probably Discovery+ don't want to make it easy to be run in a small inset window!

The only work-around I saw was to AirPlay signals over from an iPhone or iPad, and since I am an Android user that ain't gonna happen!

I'll probably just do the obvious and run the secondary apps on my tablet.

PS Or... Maybe not! I just found out that the turbo's TV actually supports PiP itself. I could use my old Chromecast dongle for that and treat myself to a 4k Chromecast dongle for the new TV. I will check tomorrow if that PiP can work from 2 HDMI sources. If it can, I'll see if I prefer PiP or TV plus tablet.

Stage 2 of Flat is Fast this morning in the D race, stayed with the front group to the end, I knew I couldn't take on the sprinters so made an effort on the climb out of the tunnel, I was 1st at the top of the rise, but I had overcooked it, and was a bit breathless for the sprint, 10th place, 6th on Zwift Power, it's looks like I will be at the back of the race now as ZRS gone to 273.

The Flat is Fast events have two different category ranges - just pick an event (like 8:10 this morning) where D is 210-330.

Not sure what you mean by Gaming Version. It was the Offer config at £799. I didn't upgrade anything. I'm sure there are many better options but at least I'll have a laptop to use and I'm sure it's good enough.

Today will be the last Cyclopathon for now. It's been successful in that it's shown the way for Zwift to use alternating ZRS pen ranges. We were the first race organizer to do it.

A lot of people liked the idea of four different kinds of races per month, but not a lot of people did more than one a month. I did them all for four months (but those mountain races really forked up my vELO, which I am now rebuilding).

I said I would do it as long as I was enjoying it. I now find myself in the position where I would rather do the zRacing races because they now have the Lower and Upper ranges I wanted them to have (but even better, alternating every hour).

So - after today's Champs Elysees races I will stop. That is all. No regrets. It was fun, but now it's become a chore.
