In the video it does suggest that intervals.icu and Veloviewer type apps could be impacted as Strava data going to there will be restricted (no aggregation for example. So if you could push data directly to the other apps whilst missing out the step to Strava that would be a solution.

I don't pay for Strava as it's purely a data storage place for me. I wouldn't be surprised if they target us free-loaders next, trying to force us to pay. If that becomes the case I'll look for an alternative. I don't use any of the other Strava features so I don't plan to upgrade (I did once pay, but didn't get any value so stopped my subs)

I like live segments which is one of the premium features I pay for. If I could wean myself off the pissing contest of segments I could ditch the paid subs. The issue on intervals was with coaches seeing your data. e.g. @Norry1 and I can see each other's data on intervals. It seemed that Strava wanted to stop that. But from the above link it looks like they are backtracking on that one.

I stopped subscription to Strava over their varied pricing from one country to the next. Also I wasn't getting the benefits of segments after Zwift deleted (over bloated) many of their own segments for longer ones. I've requested my data so I can look more at Garmin as a possible location for future recording

Intervals will have Zwift integration by 1st December, apparently

That reads to me more as clarification than backtracking. I watched DC Rainmaker's video yesterday and he seemed to have not taken notice of at least one key word: 'training'. The clarification makes it more apparent that the primary activity they're seeking to prohibit is using data to train generative models, etc. That's quite different from prohibiting the use of generative models on data. To me, that's a good balance.

The 'no aggregation' terms are still there with no apparent backtracking, which does seem a somewhat retrograde and undesirable choice, quite possibly for the majority of people who wouldn't care and might like the results of such aggregation :-\

As usual, Strava's PR, in the form of presentation and explanation of what it's doing, could be considerably better than it is !

And then there's this on intervals.icu forums. David sharing the email he got from Strava...

I will be replumbing the way I connect my Zwift activities to intervals as soon as their integration is complete. (which is also talked about in that thread).

Alex ,not wishing to make more work for the organisers but 😁, is it possible to do an overall GC including everyone especially anyone like me who's raced 2 in 2 cats

@13 rider I have found a way to do this on the ZP GC so we will do it this way instead of by category. Everyone gets dumped in E, but hopefully it won't affect anything outside of the GC Time League.

I cancelled my Strava account last May, never had a withdrawal symptoms after that. Garmin have all I need to know.

I'm assuming those are averages of our times? In which case @13 rider is actually 3:24 ahead of me rather than 1:08 across 3 races.

Another feature I like on TPV is that it shows your powermeter power and your Trainer Power. I used my Powermeter as my source of truth so that it is consistent with outdoor riding. When I've checked in the past the Trainer is 1-2% lower which makes sense as it doesn't have the transmission losses.

I was comparing the 2 powers as I rode a few days ago and it was more like 7-8% different which had me a bit concerned. However, I oiled the chain of my turbo bike and lo and behold, on my recovery ride today the results are much more in line again. Just shows how much power you can lose through poor maintenance (NOTE TO SELF).

... The 138W is the active power source (my pedals) and the 137W below is the power as it would be on the Trainer (Neo 2T).

I don't see how you get that. I've just checked his and your times and mine and Alex Silva's manually and they all four agree with ZP to within 1s.
(ZP has the unrounded times to use).

Phil has 47:30, 34:31, 32:02 ave 38:01
You have 47:28, 35:25, 34:35 ave 39:09

Oh I see what you mean now. YES. You're right. It's an "average" GC then (I have renamed it to make that clearer). But it really is pretty meaningless unless you've done all the races (as a "GC" should be, really).

That feature I would like to see other platforms as well if somebody would like to test and comapare different power meters. I have Tacx Neo 2T trainer and my trainer bike is a Garmin Rally RS200 power pedals. Only way I can compare those two power sources is using my Garmin computer simultaneously with training app. Garmin pedals shows approx 3-5w lower readings than Neo 2T.

I've successfully downloaded my Strava history, backed it up. If I lose a few rides while I sort out another data storage app, not overly concerned

David from intervals has said he will make an importer for that download file.
I've downloaded mine as well - as have several other people I know.

Mine was a Gigabyte. Quite likely Strava will be surprised by the number of people asking for their archive.

Yes mine was a little over a Gig zipped file. I copied it and saved a copy onto my file server.

I like the idea of Garmin, but, my initial research is Garmin doesn't accept Zwift file correctly. It ignores the elevation data. Reading others, you can do a two stage transfer to overcome this issue. I really wanted a totally automatic process, like Strava is currently.

I will look at interval too, if that does it seamlessly I will probably go with that
