Yes mine was a little over a Gig zipped file. I copied it and saved a copy onto my file server.

I like the idea of Garmin, but, my initial research is Garmin doesn't accept Zwift file correctly. It ignores the elevation data. Reading others, you can do a two stage transfer to overcome this issue. I really wanted a totally automatic process, like Strava is currently.

I will look at interval too, if that does it seamlessly I will probably go with that

intervals is nearly done. it’ll be a direct integration, i think

connect does do elevation, but not TSS. But you’ll get that from intervals

Not too bothered by TSS, nice if it does, but less critical than virtual elevation

I don't know anything about intervals .... does it show simple data like Strava? So for each ride, the course, average power, estimate calories, etc. And does it aggregate distance, time ridden etc for each month/year?

No need to Zwift today. Yesterday and last night was snowing 20-30cm layer of snow in here, much more than I was ordered. I just did 1h20min snow shoveling which is enough training for today.

No cycling for me either today - gym for an hour this morning with my friend, and a music gig tonight so I'll be bopping for a couple of hours.
Thankfully no snow down here in the UK South West. I don't like snow!!

Yes you can do ALL that in a customisable way. You can also have different FTPs for indoor and outdoor and you can filter activities by indoor/outdoor too to see different power curves. I don't think there's anything useful you can't do with intervals, but if there is, David will probably implement it if asked.

Here's this morning's Zwift session...

i went on earlier to set up an account ..... seems I already have one and must have joined yonks ago and my rides are there (from Strava). Time to play to see how far that data goes back.
I have set up a Garmin Connect account too and linked Rouvy and Zwift to it so that will start to collect data now too. I'll follow you and Andy and download my Strava history and upload that.

Yes I thought you'd had a look a couple of years ago as I'm following you

I've just sent you a message in intervals chat so you can see my account name to follow if you want to :okay:

Righty O, Ive managed to import most if not all my Strava rides into Garmin Connect. Relatively straightforward, once I figured how to batch unzip all my activities with WinRar app on the PC. After that Garmin readily and speedily accepted all the files in one transfer.

I've got rides going back to 2013, I didnt know I had used Strava that early.

I will run both Strava and Garmin Connect in parallel until/when Strava gets uppity about my data

@CXRAndy What format did the rides come in from Strava? GPX, TCX or FIT files?

I only ask because I've got all the outdoor rides I make using my Garmin Edge GPS in Garmin Connect (obviously) and also it picks up everything I log on Zwift because I connected the two apps as well. But any other rides I make (which are few and far between admittedly) where I use say the Strava app on my phone, I have to transfer them manually across as GPX files afterwards.

Unfortunately when I do so, Garmin Connect doesn't pick them up as rides, but as "Other" and I have to do a manual edit on each ride to correct that. If at any point I also chose to do a mass export from Strava, I'd rather not have to change the details on each one of my activities every time!

Hi Steve

Most were FIT files, but some were GPX. Garmin didn't like the TCX files. When I checked through my rides once loaded. They look OK, marked as 'virtual' as I do these mostly. Some of the earlier rides are unknown. I wasn't too concerned with the allocation description whether indoor or outdoor, I don't log them differently.

I will go through some of the more recent where I know some were definitely outdoor

If Zwift uploads a ride to Garmin Connect or Strava it should be automatically tagged as virtual ride.
I've always had Zwift upload to both at the time of saving the race. Once intervals integration is done I won't need Strava connected to intervals any more because intervals can get everything else I do from Garmin Connect.

Connect does not forward activities that weren't recorded on a Garmin device (but if you do a one-off Garmin data dump, they should be in there, I think. I did it yesterday.)
