Yeah, we can base a league around the Danish races. I suppose one downside compared to our normal leagues is that there is only one fixed opportunity to post a time. Why couldn't we use the Danish league races as the Cyclechat league but run it over the next 7 weeks.
We could award points in the same way as the Danish league is doing for finishing positions, say 20 for 1st place, 15 for 2nd, 12 for 3rd, 10 for 4th, etc down to 2 for 13th and then 1 point for all other finishers.
Accepting not everybody can ride all 7 races, then maybe base the overall points table on each rider's best 5 results?
Then, each race would have an individual winner and places based on the times, but with a points table to decide the overall series?
This would be a piffling thing to load into a spreadsheet for an excel professor such as @peterob !
All of that was just off the top of my head, so feel free to improve it. Anyhow, what are people's views?
I'm hoping this would also encourage all others who haven't signed up to join the Danish league series. We then get stronger teams in the Danish league even if we can't get everyone riding in every race , but also we can run our closed Cyclechat league in parallel, as people know they only have to ride 5 of the 7 events to compete the Cyclechat league.
Another effect of using the Danish races is that we'd have to use riders finishing times as the basis of awarding our points. This would give Al an advantage over the B's (as he'd get dragged along by a faster group) and similarly the B's would get an advantage over the C's etc (you may want to ride in B cat Del

I think the 'best 5 from 7' counting overall is a good idea though. And I'm happy with the scoring system proposed (20 points for the CC stage 'winner' etc).
