I've just been dipping my toe into BigRingVR again and I'm really enjoying it, I do the goat league and if I get time I do the challenges.

Video quality is top notch And the developers are very good, they listen to what the user wants and any ideas that we may have and would you believe it they also implement them if there any good what a novel concept .

I may be burnt at the stake when I say this but I have been getting a little bored of Zwift

That’s cool- different strokes for different folks:thumbsup:

And BRVR is very cool and I will use it when I get my climbing legs back.

I think I’ll give BigRing a go then.

I see I have 4 days to climb the Zoncolan!

I’m not bored with Zwift but I think having a strong alternative will keep things much more enjoyable

We have a goat league since last year :okay:
So I hear .... no bugger told me :cry:

Just rejoined BRVR so will have a go tonight on stage 1 although not convinced I'll finish the climb

If memory serves me well, I last used BRVR when my belt was the dodgy old one that kept slipping so will be interesting now with the correct belt and real % inclines xx(

Is anyone up for trying to set up a "Meet-up" on Zwift on Thursday evening at 6.30pm to try doing a TT for the league?

I was thinking of doing the Figure of 8 forward loop on Watopia which should take between 45 minutes and an hour.

If people are up for trying this, you'll have to be following me on the Zwift Companion App - Paul Bridgman (cyclechat).

Here's a link to how meetups work - so you should be able to join zwift in advance for a warm up and as long as you've accepted my invite to the meet up you should get a notification that will automatically transport you to the start point just like joining a race - https://zwiftinsider.com/meetups/

Remember to change your bike to the TT bike beforehand so we're all on a level playing field and not benefiting from any drafting.

The start point should be about 100 metres before the start/finish banner for the hilly loop (which is part of the figure of 8) and this is where the Strava segment we can use for timings will start. Anyone who can't make it on Thursday can just go to the Watopia Figure of 8 (forward) course on Zwift themselves and do it - on a TT bike - on their own. We'll have to agree on a particular Strava segment to take the time from, so let's decide that after we've done it.

I will try sending the invite now...
It's a bit late for me so I did it today.
Wouldn't the Zwift insider's link to the forward Strava segment be the segment to use:

https://www.strava.com/segments/12118421

Btw, seems like you don't get any power up's on the TT bike, so we don't have to worry about that.

I think this type of ride should only be on a monthly bases, as this is about staying within your bounds for the given period, not exceeding them.
Don't you think being forced to exceed your bounds is the way to fitness gains ?

You can adjust smart trainer setting in BRVR so it doesn't feel any worst than Alpe du Zwift if that helps ^_^. You can adjust maximum uphill setting, i think that is BRVR versio of trainer difficulty setting or am i wrong?.

You have Maximum Uphill and Maximum Downhill that go from 0 to +25 and 0 to -25 which I assume sets the maximum gradient up and down. . .... Then you also have the Trainer difficulty setting which works just like Zwifts ... virtual gearing ... be warned if you set it to 50% for the uphill's it makes any descent 50% harder!!

My settings for uphill is +24% and downhill -7% and trainer difficulty 100%. Not ride steep ascents yet on BRVR but easier routes that setting is been a fine for me.
