I've gone from a Bkool Classic to Kickr V3 to Kickr V4 on each step the pedaling has been harder but at slightly different points. The Kickrs are harder to get going (V3 to V4 as well due to the larger flywheel), but the bkool is harder to maintain a constant power. Max power is similar between them and IRL.I didn't notice much of a difference with my Tacx Flow in terms of power between indoors and outdoors, but the Flux feels harder to pedal for the same watts as outdoors. Normally I can hold 280-320 range easily enough but yesterdays race was really really hard. Now that could of course be in part related to nutrition or fatigue. I'm going to rest up and test against my power meter this weekend.
My pedaling dynamics are similar but I can't seem to get a push going over the top of the stroke. My power phase runs from 0-6° to 200-210 L and R. It varies slightly run to run. I'm hoping there are some training sessions that concentrate on pedaling style that will help me sort this out.Not sure I agree with this article completely, Indeed I would put temperature and overheating ahead of trainer type, in being the most important difference between FTP when outdoors and Indoors. .... Evan a cheapy BKool wheel on Smart trainer simulates momentum. From what I've learned when studying mt pedaling dynamics from the vectors is that although 'Peak' force is applied between 1 to 5 in the cycle, I still get significant force from 11 though to about half 7 ... Indoors and out.
Food for though though ... best if you read the article before commenting though
What I got out of the article is my terrible fail on the "build me up" pedaling drill is the fault of the trainer and not my probably smooth as silk pedaling. My pedaling dynamics are similar but I can't seem to get a push going over the top of the stroke. You do know aero wheels don't help indoors rightI might bite the bullet oon some Zuus 50 mm aero pro wheels tomorrow given there’s an extra 10% off. Perhaps also an aero handlebar. I know it’s all available for a little less from eBay etc but warranty and crash replacement policies add at least a veneer of support. Just need a bit of handholding
Or I could just buy a Giant Propel disc and get it all with the bike anyway

Depends whether your current bike fits you perfectly? I would upgrade current bike, but there again, Im talking from the position of having my dream frame as the base
do they do aero little wheels for the wheelchair as well ?That’s a fair point!
The TCR fits me fine. But it was forced on me a bit following a crash and damoto my old bike. The tart in me, mindful of ToC next year and anticipating a lot of IRW riding ( shock horror) would like some Aero wheels and an Aero cockpit. The next step up sounds like a new bike

toucheYep. I’d they don’t work for me do you want them for one ya little bikes?
do you want to buy mine ?It's gone .... the Bkool Pro is no more!
