A couple of years back on a club ride we were joined by willesden cycle club, I was pushing up this steep hill and couldn't talk when one of the guest riders overtook me, he was well into his seventees. Back at the cafe at the end of the ride I found out he was Wiggins coach for long time and had raced himself. I didn't feel quite so useless then.
I used to ride with a guy called Andy Hicks who was the 70s age group national road race and time trial champion. When he was in raining for the TT championship, he used to come out for a ride with us on his TT bike and then just sat at the back of the group over 60/70 miles knocking out a steady 17mph average.

He's about 73 now and still riding but has moved away from the area. We follow each other on Strava and he's still belting out some great times.

A guy in his late 20s was out with us once and decided to drop all the old bastards on a climb up Wray Lane/Reigate Hill. That is until Andy decided to push just a little harder and sailed past him effortlessly towards the top of the climb.

Just reactivated Bkool for 3 months for £7.99.

I won't be leaving Zwift, but just want to see if their new Sim is any better than the old one at supporting non Bkool trainers.

I'm expecting to be disappointed and a little concerned as the beta version of the new Sim corrupted my MacBook last time!

Minor update. Surgery has been put on hold -- essentially they want to be absolutely certain the DVT/PEs are stable or dissolved before cutting out the tumor. In simplest terms there's more risk in cutting it out now due to the DVT/PEs than it is to leave it alone for several weeks or even a few months given the growth rates on the tumor.

Soooo, I'll be doing some light riding and perhaps a bit of treadmill work while we wait.

another little trick is to get some smaller plates that will help with portion size I use my smaller plates during the week and the bigger plates for a weekend treat curry etc remember it don't hurt to have a cheat day once a week
Saturday is my cheat day - currently sitting on sofa with a can of cold wife beater in my hand. Might even go for a second wife beater later. Now where did i put my sov ring?!?

Take it easy Jeff ... post which rides you're going to do and if it's a recovery day for me I will try to join you for a spin. Not today though, the wife beater is going down too well

Riders who were fast young, are fast when old if they keep it up. Larger heart and lung capacity, which you just cant develop as much if you come to endurance sports later in life.

I bumped into an old guy cycling along this summer, he had huge toned legs and was a bit of a TT guy in his youth and regularly cycled 300 miles a week. In his later years he said he didnt do much these days, only 150miles !
He was pushing 80 years old:eek:

Can you not just change the info on the zwift profile and let her use that, I do that for my wife and son on my subscription.
