We can pick a day to suit really bud. I’d say it’ll prob be quickish. Too cold to hang around this time of year! We’d have to pick a route to say how much climbing there’ll be. Open to suggestions with the route. I’d like to put a few miles in and I guess Berty would be the same.
West of London is pretty flat, I can recommend velolife cafe at Warren row as a good stop off, a dedicated cycling cafe with good coffee and great cake and the additional attraction of a TT loop and free coffee for anyone that does it, and free coffee for as long as you hold the KOM.

Checked my setup earlier (yeah, I'm so dumb i don't actually know what the gearing is on the bike  ) . Kickr has a 11-28 9 speed cassette and the bike wheel has a 11-32 9 speed cassette. The front is 50/34. So at 100% last night it was much harder than it would be on the bike out IRL. I can probably knock the realism down then to say 85% on the trainer to simulate real life riding.

Don't forget the crap road surfaces and wind factors in real life, I think you'd be better off at 90%, which is only a couple more than the actual 88% needed for the gearing alone.

theres got to be some hills round there !- surely
dont leave me with the lanky one on the flat please- what are the cotswolds like ?

flippin flat ! thats my good mood scuppered
Plenty of hills in Surrey, Kent and Sussex!

If you fancy heading South on Wednesday I could probably join you and work out a route, depending on starting place and time, how far you want to ride and what time you want to end.

If you're planning on getting out of central London by train, I live at Horley on the London to Brighton line, so could meet there, or another station if that works better.

Could possibly do Friday, but I'm out drinking with friends on Thursday, so I may not be in the best shape the next day!

I'm out this evening, so may not reply, but let me know if you're both interested.

From the stop at Velolife keep heading west through the Chilterns, get to goring and blast up streatley hill (a top 100), you could then head to Newbury for the train back to London or carry on South west ish to inkpen and Combe Gibbet (another top 100), blast down the bourne valley and pop in and see me in Basingstoke before getting the train back to London. I can provide food.

Think about a start point that you like the look of and I'll see if I've got some routes. Most of the ones I have are Hampshire and Berkshire way. But plenty of options and hills

as for rollers on zwift all i can say is it is thwart with danger !
no feeling for course , no attempt to get out of saddle , the barest of glimpses at the screen
had garmin on as well so you could compare zwift to garmin
rollers were elite arion diameter 85 mm
user immaturity on rollers may be the issue tonight
but i couldnt ever see me getting to a point where i would be able to race on them

Around Bath area there are some nasty hills, just up your street!

Thanks for the ride on Kip. @berty bassett if I lose this BKOOL race I’m blaming you for pushing me just to keep up with your easy pace. Boys pick a flat route next week!!!

Cheers mate. I’ve actually managed to borrow a set of rollers from a pal. He’s just dropped them off so I won’t give em a go until the little monsters in bed. If you don’t hear from me again tonight then...

If I'm really honest, the Neo has always been the front runner, I'm only looking at the Kickr because of the Climb, and that's really just another gadget that I don't need Like yes, want certainly, the interesting thing for me is that @CXRAndy reports that it also increases comfort, for me wanting to do endurance work, that is a critical factor, so while the Neo is No 1, the Kickr / Climb is a close second.
Also a core and climb can be had for less than a Neo  if you get the 12/17% off at wiggle
