Lee I will be looking for a short race about 4 pm before going out to celebrate Nippers birthday. If weather is good I would take an rl ride

if i do a 10 min ride on them with hr/rpm and save on strava - that should give you all that you need ? and diameter

I don’t need the hr bud. If you could just try and go at 200-250 for a few seconds. Let me know what cadence you were at and what gear ratio. Preferably around the 15t area. That would be perfect.

Thanks for the company on the Alpe tonight @Breedon

Had a bit of a Kickr failure though which was annoying. After about 65 mins of climbing, with about 5 mins to go, the power starts fluctuating massively. What i think happened was, the kickr was over heating. It was then losing resistance so as i was pushing the pedals the fly was spinning faster and the watts were going crazy high. After a minute or so, i tried taking the realism down to 0% and this seemed to resolve the problem. Not ideal, but was at least a solution to allow me to finish the ride.

I've read of others who have had the same issue with their kickr. Never happened to me before, but then I've never climbed the Alpe before at 100% realism - this is the problem. The trainer mech overheats and loses it's ability to hold resistance. Never had this issue when ridding at 50% realism.

Be interesting if this is also an issue with newer kickrs.
I was watching you and Dean when that happened.

I saw you hit around 220W/kg at one point! My forensic mind narrowed this down to 2 possibilities:

1. @Whorty is looking strong tonight, or
2. His kicker is f***ed!

After such a burst of power, it seemed very noble that you stopped and waited for @Breedon to catch you up!:laugh:

I may try the Alpe tomorrow!

i thought he was toying with me and wanted to play ^_^ but when he hit 8 w/kg i knew something wasn't right, but i let him cross the line first :thanks:

how did you find it at 100% ? was gearing ok
I think i need more gears .... 11-30 just not enough. On road bike I have 11-32 and only 20% plus sections beat me. But, saying that, having to work harder on the trainer climb will help me when out in the real world :okay: Problem was more with the Kickr overheating at 100% :banghead:

Carl what is wrong with 50%. I use that with 53/39 crank and 11-28 cassette. I go up all gradients in Zwift, can still maintain 75+rpm. I never over powered the Kickr but I've always used 50% or had a higher cadence. My knees don't like riding at 60-70 rpm for an hour, these days it's 95+rpm

I had to wait for him ... he was too bloody slow  i was only pushing 2000 watts, can't see why he couldn't catch up  Lesson learn, don't try to climb the Alpe at 100% realism, the Kickr can't cope :cursing:

When is the Neo bike out

You are, as always, a true gent :notworthy:

I bet that other rider who caught me up and went about 20 seconds up the road couldn't believe his eyes why I flew past him at 2000 watts
