I think @Monte has before
Yes I did use rollers, got the power from my power tap rear hub power meter... did make it interesting at times, lol
Obviously picked a flatish course
I think @Monte has before
semi made mind up to leave off a bit early do a rlr come home set rollers up and play on them for a bit ! missus is away from saturday so next week i should be able to get some miles inLee I will be looking for a short race about 4 pm before going out to celebrate Nippers birthday. If weather is good I would take an rl ride
if i do a 10 min ride on them with hr/rpm and save on strava - that should give you all that you need ? and diameter
I got a email from training peaks saying that I got a new ftp of 256 but it hurts walking or coming down the stairs nowBut chase me down you did ... I could see you coming and couldn't hold you off
I was watching you and Dean when that happened. Thanks for the company on the Alpe tonight @Breedon
Had a bit of a Kickr failure though which was annoying. After about 65 mins of climbing, with about 5 mins to go, the power starts fluctuating massively. What i think happened was, the kickr was over heating. It was then losing resistance so as i was pushing the pedals the fly was spinning faster and the watts were going crazy high. After a minute or so, i tried taking the realism down to 0% and this seemed to resolve the problem. Not ideal, but was at least a solution to allow me to finish the ride.
I've read of others who have had the same issue with their kickr. Never happened to me before, but then I've never climbed the Alpe before at 100% realism - this is the problem. The trainer mech overheats and loses it's ability to hold resistance. Never had this issue when ridding at 50% realism.
Be interesting if this is also an issue with newer kickrs.
For those interested, here is my recording of tonight's race. Warning: 25 minutes into the race both I and @berty bassett are dropped from the leading bunch, and from then on it is solo rides for us…

i thought he was toying with me and wanted to play but when he hit 8 w/kg i knew something wasn't right, but i let him cross the line firstI was watching you and Dean when that happened.
I saw you hit around 220W/kg at one point! My forensic mind narrowed this down to 2 possibilities:
1. @Whorty is looking strong tonight, or
2. His kicker is f***ed!
After such a burst of power, it seemed very noble that you stopped and waited for @Breedon to catch you up!
I may try the Alpe tomorrow!
I think i need more gears .... 11-30 just not enough. On road bike I have 11-32 and only 20% plus sections beat me. But, saying that, having to work harder on the trainer climb will help me when out in the real world Problem was more with the Kickr overheating at 100%how did you find it at 100% ? was gearing ok
I had to check at one point that I hadn't accidentally set up my Pro@Whorty Wanna buy a Bkool Pro ??
I had to wait for him ... he was too bloody slow i was only pushing 2000 watts, can't see why he couldn't catch up Lesson learn, don't try to climb the Alpe at 100% realism, the Kickr can't copeI was watching you and Dean when that happened.

You are, as always, a true genti thought he was toying with me and wanted to play but when he hit 8 w/kg i knew something wasn't right, but i let him cross the line first
