I need to participate some events too in a near future. I think i need some different stimulation, my free rides are too monotonic. Maybe i should do some workout as well.

OK ... So I've finally done it I have joined the Zwift Splitters (also Known As Cyclechat  ) ... at least for a trial period of 7 days.

Was looking for a nice flattish ride of around 50Km but have no idea how to find such a thing ... I also have the Zwift Preferences App installed as well if I need that to ride any particular course that I don't have with my free trial.

Also set up ZwiftPower as well ... Don't want to jump on a race as don't want to be accused of sandbagging was looking for something around 1.5 to 2W/Kg ... might do 100Km social ride tomorrow as well

If you also join Zwift power.com. This lists the schedule for the week of different courses to be used-see here

Well, looks as though I've joined the ZHR 100Km Audax (C - Whatever that means) for tomorrow at 9:15 ... Got to be better than getting wet IRL

If you pick this up before the event. Stay in the pack near-ish the front, say 15 riders back. This will give you the benefit of draft. If its easy ride on the front pulling the pack along. Enjoy

NB you've chosen cat C, which is a good choice first time on Zwift. You will most likely cope with the pace in that category given your real life rides

I might see you on course, but I'll be in erg mode doing my own thing:hello:

Keep an eye on the rider list to get an idea of the w/k the pack are riding at. The greatest draft benefit is in the front half of the pack. Don’t drop off the back because you will need to put out big watts to get back!
Enjoy!

I never knew the draft effect was higher in the front half.

It's pretty much the same throughout the pack, except right in the front. The issue is, it so easy to get spat out of the back if you're near the back of the pack, a few seconds and you're off the back if you take your eye off the screen.

Bit of a shame really - we are away this week, but the Tour is passing through Warwick on Wednesday, half a mile from my house.

You may recall I was worried one of my Strava KOMs would be nabbed by one of the riders in the Women's Tour recently - looks like the guys are doing a similar route - and my KOM is definitely at risk. It isn't a hill, so maybe they won't be going full bore. Will check Strava on Thursday.

Well, I am no longer KOM on that segment  Now I'm 8th of 4,365. Still this table makes interesting viewing ^_^

Well that was interesting.. Managed to stay with the faster group of mixed B's and C's for the first lap and a half or so, then I lost it going up the short 5% into Trafalgar Sq (I think) ... watched them disappear into the distance, but picked up another mixed group that I held onto until the underground station after that steep hilly bit in the park the third time. ... Eventually found and joined a group of non ZHR riders to get all the way round.

I think I may have been promoted on Zwiftpower though

Ooops!

3.1W/Kg will see you in cat B, but in a race that could be much higher and you could be in A cat :okay:

How did the riding feel, smooth, speed etc. What turbo are you using now?

Ride was great, good gradient changes very smooth, no sudden dead stops ... Even when I had to stop pedaling to stand and re arrange my ... shorts, getting going again from 25W was painless.

Still on the BKool Pro, and will be until mid Jan I think, then I may be allowed to splash out. I have to power off the turbo after starting zwift anyway for it to pick up my Garmin Cadence sensor, otherwise it insists on using the cadence sensor on the BKool ... which is a load of bollox!
