I will be interested to hear what you have to say about the pedals. Big software update this week. Some gripes about ease of clipping in and out and battery drain but most users v happy with power accuracy. Those that complain tend to be comparing to their wheel on trainer power estimate in Zwift. given Garmins vector 3 woes looks like you made an excellent choice.
DCR's review essentially said any of the biggies (assioma, garmin, powertap) were reasonable choices. So cost/availability became the deciding factor.

I'm sure I still have a tendency to jump off like a jack-rabbit. I'm doing better at controlling that impulse on the kickr as I can see the power and know if I'm going too hard, even when it feels easy. I need the feedback out in the real world as well, hence the power meter pedals :-) As long as they're self-consistent, I'm going to be a happy camper.

Lee, mahoosive ride yesterday:notworthy: How are the, err, soft bits;)
Did you ride tubeless? I got back from my ride as Tommy’s Henchman to find my rear tyre was down from 80 to 30psi suggesting a sealed puncture but I cannot find it. Tyre now pumped up and sealant still holding up so all good. Awful hangover today has kept me cycling locally and didn’t even bother to upload to Strava. Well, as they say, if it’s not on etc.

tender ! very tender
didn,t ride tubeless as i was on the wilier thats built for comfort but even that was beginning to feel like sitting on a cheese grater at the end
sort of pleased with things as i hadn't done a 100 miler this year so mustn't grumble too much , the garmin ran out of charge at 145ish and when i plugged in power pack , that was out of charge as well so had to use phone . was going well up to then but everything just instantly drained away from me soon after and i just had to limp home in survival mode - when i got about 8 mile from home there is an option of heading down the old railway line - never use it on a road bike but i just took the easy option
worse than legs was the throat that got very sore for some reason
i put tubeless on the wheels i am taking with us next month and will try them out tomorrow i think
its good to know that it didnt stop you riding when you punctured - do you have to put more stuff in when that happens ?
i hope you let the youngster have a go up front every now and again

Oh, don’t you worry I let him him tow me around. Legs were heavy from previous day and a crap nights sleep tempted a bail. Glad I didn’t.
I will top up the sealant just to be on the safe side.

You must have been carrying loads of food and water. Sounds like you had to dig deep!

Given up on deep rim wheels for ToC but looking at Ekoi Aero helmet. In meantime trying to improve flexibility and core to hold a more aero position on the bike. I reckon if I can get a little lower and tuck in behind Tommy or Andy I might be able to hang on for a bit.
Oh, I picked Tommy’s bike with 2 full water bottles- that thing is light and pretty nice in the flesh.

i think the main thing will be to hide behind the big boys when the wind is in your face then take your turn when being blown along - that was my plan -- but i came up with a better one !:becool::sun:
still hoping that we land late morning - it will only take me a hour to get there !
so tommys got the new one up and running - hope you told him its a bit noisy ^_^

i can't find anything on strava by either of you ? you both going secret

Sooo. The pleurisy is the result of a pulmonary embolism... I'm cleared by the ER docs for riding on the trainer, but not racing intensity. Will look to GP for more clarity after we get results from next round of blood tests.

Definitely not the news I wanted to get... Though I guess it could have been worse, much worse.

EEK! Do they know why you got the blockage? Are you on blood thinners?
