I
tender ! very tender
didn,t ride tubeless as i was on the wilier thats built for comfort but even that was beginning to feel like sitting on a cheese grater at the end
sort of pleased with things as i hadn't done a 100 miler this year so mustn't grumble too much , the garmin ran out of charge at 145ish and when i plugged in power pack , that was out of charge as well so had to use phone . was going well up to then but everything just instantly drained away from me soon after and i just had to limp home in survival mode - when i got about 8 mile from home there is an option of heading down the old railway line - never use it on a road bike but i just took the easy option
worse than legs was the throat that got very sore for some reason
i put tubeless on the wheels i am taking with us next month and will try them out tomorrow i think
its good to know that it didnt stop you riding when you punctured - do you have to put more stuff in when that happens ?
i hope you let the youngster have a go up front every now and again
Oh, don’t you worry I let him him tow me around. Legs were heavy from previous day and a crap nights sleep tempted a bail. Glad I didn’t.
I will top up the sealant just to be on the safe side.
You must have been carrying loads of food and water. Sounds like you had to dig deep!
Given up on deep rim wheels for ToC but looking at Ekoi Aero helmet. In meantime trying to improve flexibility and core to hold a more aero position on the bike. I reckon if I can get a little lower and tuck in behind Tommy or Andy I might be able to hang on for a bit.
Oh, I picked Tommy’s bike with 2 full water bottles- that thing is light and pretty nice in the flesh.
