Using bots without permission is technically against the terms of service, so it's more clearly not allowed than using features of the game that nobody had the foresight to realise could/would be abused in this way. (Even though it's bloody obvious. ^_^ )

So I'd hesitate to call this cheating, but it isn't very sporting. To my mind "cheating" involves the deliberate breaking of a rule to gain an advantage. This is more "taking the pee" - particularly when a whole team is doing it.
It's also incredibly lame. I don't even know how I would begin to explain to my wife if i was standing at the TV for several hours respawning at the top of the fake alpe on loop to get more fake miles on my fake bike

I can understand if you’re really serious about bike riding and you’re doing it as an extreme measure to get an edge, but this particular lady races in D cat. I can’t help thinking that if she put as much effort into actually riding her bike, she’d be a C at least!

Based on the number of people I saw on Zwift last night still riding around on their Tron bikes, there's obviously a huge number of people on there who either have no idea how the upgrading thing works, or just don't care (which is completely fair enough!).

Either that, or they were the people who've teleported to the top of a mountain a gazillion times to upgrade 3 zwift bikes already I suppose!

When doing group rides, there is text popping up re bikes upgrades, so people either aren't interested getting these Halo bikes.

Question - if I get a halo bike, will it be one of the fastest overall and can I use it on any event?

It's not just about getting Halo Bikes though, it's about upgrading standard bikes (which is also much more achievable!). My point was that if you're riding round on the Tron you either don't know/care about upgrading anything because you first need to fully upgrade three Zwift bikes before you can even start upgrading the Tron itself. So if you do want to upgrade anything you should be riding a standard bike of some sort to be working towards upgrading that (unless you've done something weird like teleporting to already have upgraded 3 Zwift bikes so quickly).

Yes you can use Halo bikes on any event (as long as its not one with set bike choice of course) - the Tron is one of the Halo bikes so you can use them just like you use the Tron.

The Pinarello Espada is a TT bike and isn't as quick as the fastest TT bikes. The other 3 Halo bikes are the three fastest road bikes on Zwift on the flat (Tron, followed by Cannondale Rollerblade, followed by the Specialized Project 74). So I guees you might want to use them on a very flat race

I suppose if you don't race, why would you care about bike upgrades? Working on level 3 for the SL8 now. That one will probably take a couple of weeks, depending on the weather.
