Eastern Eight for Chasing Wevelgem. There's some tough opposition this year. Not got near a podium yet (and likely won't)...

I got 12th today which I was fairly happy with since this course has a lot of flat on it and not much punch. I didn't have much in the tank to do a decent effort up Titans reverse - as you all know, I love that segment when I'm fresh.
Did a workout this afternoon, then felt guilty that I hadn’t been out in the sunshine, so went for a pootle around the block with my youngest.
Feeling inspired to get running again, I’ve done as many runs in the past fortnight as Zwift rides. Tomorrow morning I’m going to try for a sub-5:00 mile, having clocked a frustrating 5:01 last week!
Jo’s been following a structured training plan since September and has improved her 5k time from 24 minutes to 21:46, so I’ll bask vicariously in her glory, until she starts getting too close to me 🤣
Thanks! It’s worth clarifying that my timed mile is all flat and downhill, with a drop of about 45m (gives me massive respect for proper fast runners). That's some pace! What's your 5k pb?
Not a fan of running at all. Ironically, my partner is a very keen runner - marathons, ultra trails and so on. Going down to London end of next month for the big even there - she's running and I'm cheering, of course. Most I ever did was a Parkrun with my lad - at his pace which was pretty much jogging.Did a workout this afternoon, then felt guilty that I hadn’t been out in the sunshine, so went for a pootle around the block with my youngest.

The new incentives to do big miles on Zwift have brought out the worst in some people!
I knew that it was theoretically possible to do this, but didn't think anyone actually did it.

(As an aside, there used to be a 'hack' on Duolingo where you'd get XP for doing a lesson for the second, third, etc time. If you complete three challenges each day, you get about 20 minutes of tripled XP accumulation. The speaking exercises take barely any time to complete, so, to garner loads of XP - and boost your position in the weekly leagues - you could fill your twenty minutes repeating the same four phrases over and over. Rather than actually moving on and learning something new...)
What's going on there - using the teleport thing?
(Feel free to confirm exact intructions!)

Not sure if this is the exact same thing, but aren't people teleporting to the top of the Alpe then rolling down, to get free miles in?
Seems rather silly, but I'm guessing it's a minority so best just ignored.
Personally I'd rather earn a Halo bike though sweat, mostly Z2 sweat riding with the pacer bots, but at least I am earning it haha
I'm sure it's a very small minority doing it, but it's still effectively cheating the system and seems like it would be incredibly easy for Zwift to close that loophole in terms of gaining miles for bike upgrades. It reflects very badly on them that they haven't
I wonder if it is against their T&Cs. and they can ban users, like they did with the guy who cheated his way to the Tron and then went on to win the UK National Zwift Champs....
Maybe...although using a bot is much more clearly cheating than expoiting a loophole built into the game. I don't think you earn Drops when not pedaling - how hard could it be to put the same rule into how bike upgrade miles/time is accumulated so you only gain credits towards the goal if actually riding rather than freewheeling?
