Off for a Wattbike session shortly with some guys from work.

Did a Zwift race yesterday - WBR 2 lap London Flat. Went off pretty hard and clung on to a group nearish to the front, many of them B category. Had to dig in hard a few times to stay with the group but managed it. Not too much left for the sprint but I ended up as winner in C after Filters applied. Also took a chunk off my Zwiftpower score (down to 462.47) and jumped 74 places to 113th in C overall.

Looks like my easy Sunday and Monday off helped a bit

Tommy, great write up on the Colnago of yours in CW. Seem s like you didn’t buy a dud :okay: ^_^

To be fair I don’t think I ever saw a bad review of a anything in a cycling magazine ^_^. Those boys don’t like to bite the hand that feeds them!

But yeah... it’s a ridiculous bike really mate. It probably sounds like a bit of marketing bollocks but it does seem to have a very different feel to the tarmac. The tarmac might be more sprightly. Like it goads you to go faster. But the c64 has something very reassuring about the feel of it. Dunno...

Anyways... speaking of duds. I’m trying to flog the wattbike atom. It’s not lived up to my expectations unfortunately.

I can sell you a good trainer if you're looking for something to replace the Atom .... you'll feel like your fitness is improving in leaps and bounds with the Bkool pro

Think you'll get a Neo or Kickr next?

There was an update last week that people were eulogising about. If you haven't then try that.

Well... i know you were joking but is the pro in good working order? I’d do a straight swap for the Garmin 520 if you fancy it? I wouldn’t mind a pro so I could do the races with the others.

I’m not in a rush to replace it really. Or sell it for that matter. Because I’m outside now and will be until what? Late September or October maybe. But I could buy a neo as a stop gap. Really what I’ll wait for is whatever is going to supersede the atom.

The updates are steadily improving the atom. It’s a nice bit of kit already and it will get better. But... it’s not quite ever going to get where I want it to I don’t think. It’s never going to perform like a bike on a smart trainer in terms of gear shifting and resistance.

There are loads of really good things about it( and I’m not just saying this coz I want to flog it!) I’ll be perfectly candid about its flaws and I don’t think it’s suitable for anyone here... loads of people on the Facebook groups love it however.

Maybe my knee problems have made me lose a bit of confidence in it too...

I have a feeling in the long term I’ll probably end up on the tacx offering. I still really like the idea of a stand alone unit.
