Another hint for Zwift newbs: while you’re trying to level-up as quickly as possible to gain access to the best bikes, you can get the bonus XP for completing new courses while doing workouts. So, whenever I did a workout, I’d figure out what was the longest route I could complete within the workout, to get the badge and the extra points.

Great advice - I'd do the same :okay:

His ZRS was well over cat limits - not sure how he got into the pen. Not come across him before, but his results show he's a little naughty and doesn't race the correct cat
Probably signed up some time ago before increasing his ZRS? That loophole is getting fixed soon though. It will start checking your ZRS when you enter the pen and won't let you in if you're too high. Think that's kicking in for January.

Should have beat him in race 3 but I started my sprint too late and gave him too much of a head start. If i ever meet him again i'll just surf his wheel then blast him at the end
Pure sprinter ^_^

Sprinting is so much more fun than climbing :wahhey:
💯

He needed an excuse why I beat him

Looking back at the video, I hope the irony is not lost on him. His video is about when to drop the power up, yet he buggered it up in that first race. He dropped it when he was still in the pack and before he was up to speed - it had run own well before the line. Whereas I dropped mine as I came off the 2nd wheel thus maintaining my speed all the way to the line.

Maybe I could give him coaching lessons haha

I'm enjoying being in C, entered a pan flat race which made it a classic sit in and sprint, nice to open the taps with relatively fresh legs!

Back to hilly races again I think

Do you get that anticipation in your stomach, kind of butterflies, as you approach the sprint? maybe 1.5km out my body just goes into overdrive and I have to hold myself from going too early. I know 500 metres out is ideal for me so I hope others go a little earlier and I can chase thme down and use their draft that final 100 metres.
Legs and lungs screaming, but knowing it's only for a few more seconds.
Love it.

Oh yeah especially when I know I can win and legs feel good. In the old B I'd usually be too tired hanging on to fully "prepare" but it was an easier approach, although there were plenty of 20min w/kg (and 5min w/kg) much higher than me

There were ghost powerups galore in this one so was fairly on edge, someone went early and then it's hard to hold back enough to still draft people rather than properly go for it, but thankfully it worked out and I got a perfect lead out and had a bit of a gap behind on the end. Hopefully a few more wins before promotion!

Found your guy on zwiftpower "DQ are like Street Cred" 😂

[As you can probably tell, I haven't got a trainer set up yet so I am spending a lot of time planning my pain, er, corner!]

I was looking at the Kickr Climb and thought that it looked interesting. I would never buy one though because (1) They are very expensive, and (2) My (coming) trainer is not compatible.

Riding a level bike on short simulated climbs wouldn't bother me, but for long ones such as AdZ and Ventoux which could take me hours, it probably would.

I decided that I will make a wooden riser platform for the front wheel. My bike's wheelbase is 1 metre so a 10 cm riser would give the bike a tilt roughly equivalent to a 10% gradient.

I obviously wouldn't be putting the riser in or taking it out mid-ride. I would use it solely for those long timed uphill efforts.

Actually, maybe two risers which could be used separately or together? 5 cm and 8 cm would be able to simulate 5%, 8%, and 13%.

If you're planning to go abroad for big mountains, then having the bike inclined helps with acclimatization (pun)' of the position
