I set myself a target to do at least one 100 miler each year .... one of these years I may get around to it
In Zwift there are 'badges' to collect - one is climbing the alpe (AdZ) in under an hour and another is to climb AdZ 25 times. To climb AdZ in under an hour you need to average 3.2 watts per kilo (w/kg) for the hour.
Of the 2 climbs, AdZ is much more pleasant than Ventoux, nicer graphics, more interesting things to see and usually more riders around.
When you start on Zwift you will see some riders on bikes that are illuminated - these are officially call Zwift Concept bikes but everyone knows them as Tron bikes. When you go on Zwift there are some challenges. Sign up to the Everest challenge and forget about it ... every time you climb and gain metres it will go towards the challenge. Eventually, a year or more depending how often you ride and climb, you will win the Tron bike.
If you like workouts, one tactic is to do your workouts on AdZ - if you're on a smart trainer in ERG mode the grade of the hill won't impact your workout, but what you get is a double whammy - you'll get a workout done and you'll gain meters towards your Tron bike. For me this was the most efficient way to get those climbs in.
This may make a bit more sense once you're signed up lol
