I have the 25 climbs badge, but like you not been up in ages. When I was 75kg and climbing at an FTP of 3.2 w/kg it was an ok climb - now at 83kg and FTP of 2.7 w/kg, it will be as painful as hell

You want to try being 100kg. I normally do it in around 80-90 minutes, though I think on a banded ride I did it in 64 minutes. I couldn't do it in under an hour on a motorbike.

Had a great event today, DBR Leith after party. Over a 100 started. Held onto the main front group to the bottom of Leith. I was around 34th, back of the pack, set a pace, mainly cadence and HR and began to pick off the weakening riders from the back of the main group, got to 29th , then two riders came by late on-one was sandbagging and got immediately promoted out of category with a RS of 447. The two leader who got away with 10km to go also promoted being B cats . One other rider with hidden profile was elevated out of group.

31/108 (ZP26th) with a big climb , pleased with that result RS currently static 309

Its nice to see that ZRS didn't add any points when you're 31st - that's sensible.

The 180-350 group feels like the old C cat, or at least it should be once the underseeded Bs are promoted up.

My ZRS after yesterday is 267 now. Probably still a little low but doesn't really make that much difference as it plonks my in the right area of the 180-350 group and should match my results on a rolling course (i.e. mid table).

With all my lower back/sciatic issues my legs don’t seem to have the same strength they used to have. Not sure I was much under 2 hours the one and only attempt I had.

I can manage around 2 w/kg for short bursts but can’t maintain it.

Bath Salts is one of the most notorious long-term sandbaggers in Zwift.

Nice sprint though 🏆

I would not class him as a sprinter, he doesn't have the punch, he just grinds out. If it's his way, but he will always struggle.

He's been promoted into my category. He's is doing really well for 90+ age group 😂

I meant nice sprint from Carl  taking the sandbagger down and eliciting the "excuse" that "he's a pure sprinter"

I've got no idea what Bath Salts is other than a 'Bagger ^_^

Yeah Carl's sprint, perfect example of rapid acceleration 👍

I did the third Zwift|Baseline workout this morning - Attack the Bunch. It’s very, very hard! My youngest was in the Zwifting room with me, watching Asia on the big telly, and asking me in-depth questions about wildlife conservation while I was doing 5W/kg+ intervals!

His ZRS was well over cat limits - not sure how he got into the pen. Not come across him before, but his results show he's a little naughty and doesn't race the correct cat

Should have beat him in race 3 but I started my sprint too late and gave him too much of a head start. If i ever meet him again i'll just surf his wheel then blast him at the end

Sprinting is so much more fun than climbing :wahhey:

Back to Zwift... I like the look of the Alpe du Zwift and Mont Ventoux climbs. Have any of you finished them, and if so, what were your times?
Looking at the badges/achievements, I must have went up Alpe more than 25 times. I can't remember the first one but I think it was about 80 minutes. Best so far is 46:35.

Best is 46:32 so far.
Well that's one reason to go up again

As for Ventoux - I agee it's less visually attractive and usually with much fewer people around. I did ride up 6 times back to back when doing the vEveresting. That was also 230k. Not something I'd do often though.

The leg work in the gym has given me some strength back so my sprint is definitely firing again. I love that final sprint and now ZRS isn't going to penalise me for sprinting for 62nd place in the race I can start to enjoy it again. Just need to get a bit more onto my FTP though as 2.8 ish just isn't going to cut the mustard on anything but a pan flat course. Need to get back up to over 3 w/kg to give me a chance on rolling courses.

Another hint for Zwift newbs: while you’re trying to level-up as quickly as possible to gain access to the best bikes, you can get the bonus XP for completing new courses while doing workouts. So, whenever I did a workout, I’d figure out what was the longest route I could complete within the workout, to get the badge and the extra points.
