No magical zrs recalculations overnight ☹️ still on 403 which is pen 3 for December in Alex's races . I checked that's pens figures , I'm going to suffer 🤢 for at least 1 race

My main regular opposition Stephen Hynes and Alex Silva and myself all have very similar ZRS now. I'm 540, Alex S is 547 and Stephen is 542.
My score doesn't seem to be moving by large amounts now. We could all three have raced in the 3rd pen for the last two weeks, but that one has been a bit empty in our league.

Changing December for 500-600 puts us all more in the middle of group rather than bottom or below. It should slightly reduce the severity of the thrashings we get from the Chinese/Japanese "drop-ins"

Or have the 'race' pen with the upper and lower boundaries than includes all the regular riders? Maybe 180 - 700 (Pete is just below 700)?

Whilst that worked for the short Friday smash races, for longer races the danger is that they get spoiled and negate the entire point of having narrow pen ranges.

The reason 520-690 in ZHQ races doesn't work for me personally is that it contains too many Rubies and Emeralds (or top Bs in your old language) pushing the pace "because they can". The problem being that the stronger Sapphires can hold on longer and it changes the nature of the race for the weaker Sapphires, amethysts etc

It's different in something like Chasing Tour where you know that's what's going to happen and that's the name of the game. But this series I'm trying to get away from that. Which is all a long way of saying NO.

But if you want to all race together there's nothing stopping you all joining the A pen as it stands right now.

Whilst that worked for the short Friday smash races, for longer races the danger is that they get spoiled and negate the entire point of having narrow pen ranges.

I don't know how much functionality you have Alex? Could you not place A, B, C, D, E next to each competitor, like bigger multi cat events do or even colours A red, B Green, C blue etc etc

For multi-cat ideal would be different jerseys or coloured helmets for each cat.
You can do jerseys in chase races.
But Cyclopathon isn't going to be multicat. I don't know what it IS gonna be apart from less climby though

I'll probably join the same group as @13 rider and @CXRAndy if that's ok? On the flatter courses at least!

@steverob you up for going in the next group up for the flatter courses? We'll both be tail end charlies when the road goes up but something like Richmond we should hopefully be able to hang on a bit,

It's absolutely OK. As long as your ZRS allows, you can ride in whatever pen you like.
