Just finished a community ride in 180-350 pen. 12th in ZP (13th on the road). I was expecting to get dropped on the climb but I managed to hang on all the way - the railway climb in Neokyo, suits me pretty well as I get to rest on the multiple flat sections.

I have fond memories of that Sprinter's Playground ZRL race where I attacked that climb with a full 1m effort to get FAL points on the Railway Sprint. 10 FAL points ahead of Hivey. Of course I got dropped not long after that, but I wasn't getting any other points anyway

So despite racing last night and doing well, and the long (for me) ride on Monday, my legs felt ok and power felt up on previous races. Time on the bike is definitely what I need (and to lose some timber!)

Sounds like it's coming back. This is great to hear. Keep going!

Puts me back in old C cat too. Everyone will be pleased to know whilst I was classed as a D I didn't join any old D races to get glory as it didn't seem right.
OK so we'll have to change tack. Instead of calling you a sandbagger, we'll have to call you an idiot for missing out on the chance of some easy trophies  We'll get you one way or the other

I had a fairly easy outdoor 1.5 hours with 64 TSS. My race yesterday was quite hard, but I wanted to do something.

I remember that race - we were on discord and I was monitoring anyone who chased (thankfully for my legs no one did haha). I did enjoy those points races. All in for the sprints leaving nothing on the table.

haha, yes an idiot  My virtual trophy cabinet is almost empty haha
In seriousness though, I couldn't understand why Zwift still had me as a D when I was averaging over 2.6 w/kg. Didn't seem fair me complaining about having to race Bs in ZRS races then doing the Ds over in the old style races. Plus, it's really not about the winning for me, it's having riders around me and pushing me hard irrespective of the position I come (fnar fnar) - like others I assume, I get fitter by being pushed in races by others.
Rest day tomorrow as need to get car into garage early. Might go for a stroll around Bath instead.

Realised I have not posted anything since June when I fractured my ankle.
As I got over the fracture I then had a sinus infection that then turned into a ear infection. I was also giving up vaping whilst recovering from all this, as a result I put on over 1.5 stone which is a lot for someone who is 5ft 5.
Seems my body is starting to fall apart my left elbow keeps going numb and a then painful and I got pains here there and everywhere, ( monday walked down the stairs, ripping pain from knee to crutch) doc says its the thinned discs in my spine, dont run, dont lift weight but do polatis ( So I have started) turns out I am stiff as a board. Anyway I slowly got rid of .5 of a stone so had a go at the tour of watopia.

Today was 634 people on the ticker so i thought 500th would do for a little fat old man (62) out of condition. I was surprisingly in the top 300 to begin with, then realised for the first 17 mins I was over my ftp and high heart rate , I wasnt going to keep this up for over a hour ( long route) then relief came from a unexptected place. 30 mins in realised the dam power lead had come out of pc and battery was near flat, had to stop and get off to plug it back in . Restarted in the 400 blob. Stayed with them till the end 395 out of 634 which I thought ok. 314 out of 370 on zwift power not so impressive.
Overall only a little bit down on watts ftp 195 now instead of 200 but i am a stone overweight. ftp around 2.6 w/kg it was 3.0 w/kg. So more dieting ahead.

Has anyone got to level 100 on Zwift yet? I got to level 94 during the last night's race and got a snazzy hat (which I took a moment to put on during the race of course!) so not too much further to go - although the levels do now seem to take ages to get through so it could still actually take me ages!

I'm at a lowly level 69. As others have said its just a number, but still it is nice to tick off anther level up even though the virtual swag isnt up to much anymore.

I am still trying to tick off all of the route badges and have some of the longer ones (and shortest ones) to complete. Watopia's Uber Pretzel and the Makuri Pretzel need done - I'm thinking of doing the Uber Pretzel over the December holidays so if anyone wants to join it would be good to have some company. I'd probably only do it if the weather outside is pants though.

I like the display of torque - as I haven't found any other place I can see it in real time

I spotted that torque. Is it a calculated number from power and cadence figures or does trainer transmit torque?

I liked the peanut graph analysis that Tacx and stages had with their dual power meter measurements

Look at that road surface! What speed are you hitting there, I'm seeing 70kph at least

Another Tenerife video @mjd1988 - this road is from the village of Vilaflor to Granadilla and is parallel to the one @CXRAndy sent. Video starts just before Vilaflor on the descent from Tiede. Again really nice road surface (apart from the rock I just about managed to avoid hitting @06:40!!) and I only recall a handful of cars on it.

I'm surprised that some of you who've replied aren't higher Zwift level than me - I need to get out more!

I've also never "chased xp" on Zwift - just raced or done z2 or recovery rides as an alternative to or as a training aid for outdoor riding (which I usually enjoy more). That said, I do often use the bots group ride things which does give extra XP but not for that reason, just because it's somehow more interesting than riding solo!

That's the route we took on Day 1 Al. We came up from Los Cristanos to Grandilla, then upto Vilaflor. Nice introduction to week 👍

Edit , I spotted my favourite mini shortcut bend at 23.16 in the video

Welcome back :hello:

I am 63 and know what you mean about the body giving out. I've had a few trials and tribulations but you have to just keep knocking them down and keep going.

Good luck with the weight loss - I find once I'm training hard and cut the booze down, it comes off fairly quickly.

I'm guessing it is calculated but I don't know. It should be relatively accurate anyway.

Thanks Norry1 , I barely drink alcohol but I am easily led into temptation when it comes to Kebabs, fish and chips, hot doughnuts, chocolate, bags of crisps, cooked breaksfasts. Unfortunately so is my missus so in that way we are very bad for each other only takes one of us to say I fancy ...... I put on weight quick as lightning takes me for ever to get it off.
I hope to retire in April so plan to sort my life out better fitness and training wise.

Did a community ride today, let the pack go as didn't fancy increasing my ZRS score ... I mean, they were too strong for me and I couldn't hang on

Gave me the opportunity anyway to cruise with a little group where a couple of guys were going for the sprints. I couldn't resist and joined in - hit a peak of 997 watts. Didn't realise I was hitting such big numbers again, but well chuffed :wahhey:
